What are the uses of RAPROZ TABLET?
RAPROZ TABLET is used to treat Gastro-esophageal Reflux Disease (GERD), peptic ulcer and Zollinger-Ellison syndrome (tumours in the pancreas causing the stomach to secrete more acid).
How RAPROZ TABLET works?
RAPROZ TABLET is a proton pump inhibitor. It reduces the amount of acid produced in the stomach by blocking the actions of an enzyme called H+ K+ ATPase (also known as proton pump) which is present in the lining of the stomach walls. As a result, it reduces the chances for acid reflux into the oesophagus, heals peptic ulcers and esophageal lesions and prevents its recurrence.
How long will it take for RAPROZ TABLET to cure my disease?
The time taken for healing depends on the severity of the disease. You may notice improvement in your condition within 1-2 days of therapy with RAPROZ TABLET. However, it may take several weeks for RAPROZ TABLET to completely heal the ulcers.
When should I take RAPROZ TABLET?
RAPROZ TABLET should be taken on an empty stomach at mornings. It can also be taken before a meal. Swallow RAPROZ TABLET with a glass of water.
What are the long-term side effects of RAPROZ TABLET?
Taking RAPROZ TABLET especially over the time of a year can slightly increase the risk of hip, wrist, or spine fracture. Inform your doctor if you suffer from osteoporosis or if you are taking corticosteroids which can increase the risk of osteoporosis. It may also cause vitamin B12 deficiency and low magnesium levels in the blood.
Can I stop taking RAPROZ TABLET once my symptoms subside?
Do not stop taking RAPROZ TABLET without consulting your doctor even if you feel better during the midway of the therapy. Make sure to take RAPROZ TABLET for the stipulated duration recommended by your doctor to achieve complete healing of ulcers.
What is the best time to take RAPROZ TABLET?
RAPROZ TABLET should be taken while you are on empty stomach in the morning. It can also be taken before a meal.
What to do if I forgot to take a dose of RAPROZ TABLET?
If you have missed a dose of RAPROZ TABLET, take it as soon as you remember. However, if it is time for the next dose of RAPROZ TABLET, skip the missed dose and take the next one regularly. Do not take a double dose of RAPROZ TABLET to compensate the missed ones.
What precautions should be followed while taking RAPROZ TABLET?
Before taking RAPROZ TABLET inform your doctor if you have any liver problems. You must also inform your doctor if you have vitamin B12 deficiency, osteoporosis or any tumors in your stomach. Do not take RAPROZ TABLET if you are pregnant or breastfeeding without consulting your doctor. Regularly visit your doctor and take all the necessary blood test recommended by your doctor without fail. You must also inform your doctor immediately if you experience severe uncontrollable diarrhea with stomach pain or tenderness after taking RAPROZ TABLET.
Can I consume alcohol while taking RAPROZ TABLET?
Avoid consumption of alcohol while taking RAPROZ TABLET as it could aggravate your ulcers and delays the healing process.
Can I take RAPROZ TABLET daily?
Take RAPROZ TABLET as advised by your physician. Your doctor will evaluate your health condition and suggest whether can you take RAPROZ TABLET every day or not.
Can the use of RAPROZ TABLET affect the liver?
Yes. RAPROZ TABLET may affect the way your liver work. Therefore, it should be used with caution in patients with liver problems. Consult your doctor before taking it.
Can RAPROZ TABLET be taken during pregnancy?
RAPROZ TABLET is not recommended for use in pregnant women. Therefore, consult your doctor before taking it.
