What is RAMISTAR A Tablet used for?

RAMISTAR A Tablet capsule/tablet is used for the treatment of high blood pressure (hypertension). Also, it helps in preventing strokes and other heart complications in patients with high risk of heart attacks.

RAMISTAR A Tablet may also be prescribed for other conditions as determined by the doctor.

How does RAMISTAR A Tablet work?

In RAMISTAR A Tablet, Amplodipine Besylate belongs to the class of drugs called calcium channel blockers. The drug acts by blocking the entry of calcium ions into the smooth muscles of the myocardium, thereby causing relaxation and vasodilation of vascular smooth muscles. Thus, it increases the supply of oxygen to the myocardial tissues.

Ramipril belongs to the class of drugs called angiotensin-converting enzyme (ACE) inhibitors. The drug acts by reducing the synthesis of angiotensin II which results in the relaxation of heart muscles. Thus, it lowers the blood pressure by widening the blood vessels.
