INTRODUCTION

PYNOMAX TX TABLET contains Tranexamic Acid which belongs to the group of medicines called Antifibrinolytics. It is used in the prevention and treatment of bleeding in conditions such as heavy menstrual bleeding in women, bleeding inside the digestive system (Ex. inflammatory bowel disease), bleeding from the nose, blood in urine (not caused by the kidney (renal parenchyma)), control bleeding after dental extraction in patients with coagulopathies and after cervix surgery.       

PYNOMAX TX TABLET is not recommended for use in patients with blood clotting disorder or consumption coagulopathy, kidney disease, fits or seizure disorder, irregular menstrual cycle, acquired disturbances of color vision, venous or arterial thrombosis, active thromboembolic diseases such as deep vein thrombosis, pulmonary embolism and cerebral thrombosis, subarachnoid hemorrhage and blood in urine during periods.  

Before taking PYNOMAX TX TABLET, inform your doctor if you had or have changes in normal bleeding pattern, family history of endometrial cancer, abnormal bleeding between periods, bleeding during or after sexual intercourse, premenstrual pain, lower abdominal pain, bleeding after menopause, are at risk of having a blood clot, diabetic, overweight, polycystic ovary syndrome (PCOS).   

PYNOMAX TX TABLET should be used with caution in pregnant and breast-feeding women only if clearly advised by the doctor. Consult your doctor before taking PYNOMAX TX TABLET. Your doctor may recommend you to take relevant tests to understand your existing condition.

Safety and effectiveness of PYNOMAX TX TABLET in children and adolescents below 18 years of age has not been established yet and it is not recommended for use in elderly women after menopause (stoppage of periods).  

The most common side effects of taking PYNOMAX TX TABLET are nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, headache, tiredness and stomach pain. Consult your doctor immediately if any of the side effect worsens.

USES OF PYNOMAX TX TABLET

It is used to treat and prevent bleeding in conditions such as:

• heavy menstrual bleeding in women
• bleeding from the nose
• bleeding inside the digestive system (gastrointestinal system, Ex. inflammatory bowel disease))  
• blood in urine (not caused by the kidney (renal parenchyma))
• bleeding after undergoing surgery (such as dental extraction in patients with coagulopathies, cervix surgery)  

HOW PYNOMAX TX TABLET WORKS

PYNOMAX TX TABLET prevents bleeding by blocking the plasminogen from binding with fibrin which results in bleeding. As a result, it prevents and controls bleeding associated with various conditions.

DIRECTIONS FOR USE

Take PYNOMAX TX TABLET as directed by your physician. Swallow the medicine as a whole and do not crush or chew the medicine. Do not take this medicine before your period has started as it will not work properly. Your doctor will decide the correct dose, duration and frequency of PYNOMAX TX TABLET for you depending upon age, weight and disease conditions.

SIDE EFFECTS OF PYNOMAX TX TABLET

HOW TO MANAGE SIDE EFFECTS

Nausea or vomiting:

Stick to simple meals while taking this medicine. Avoid eating oily rich, fried or spicy foods. Do not lie down or sleep immediately after eating. Consult your doctor if the symptom does not improve.

Diarrhoea:

Drink lot of fluids, such as water to keep yourself hydrated. Avoid eating high-fat or spicy foods. Try to avoid taking any medicine on your own to treat diarrhea and consult your doctor if the symptom gets worse.    

Headache:

Drink ample amount of water and avoid skipping meals. Get adequate rest. Try to be relaxed and stress free. Apply pain relieving balm on your forehead if necessary. Consult your doctor if the symptom does not improve.   

Stomach pain:

Try to rest and relax. Eat and drink slowly or try to have smaller meals more frequently. Keep a heat pad on your stomach. If the symptom does not improve, consult your doctor.

INTERACTIONS

A. Drug-Drug interactions:

Before taking PYNOMAX TX TABLET inform your doctor if you are taking any of the following medicines:

• Ethinyl estradiol, levonorgestrel (oral contraceptives used to prevent pregnancy)
• estrogen (used to treat hormone disorder)
• streptokinase, reteplase, tenecteplase (used to a breakdown blood clots)
• tamoxifen (used to treat breast cancer)
• trans-retinoic acid (used to treat acne)
• factor IX complex concentrates (used to stop bleeding)

Overdosage:

If you or anyone else accidentally takes too much of PYNOMAX TX TABLET, contact your doctor immediately or visit a nearby hospital immediately. Overdosage symptoms of PYNOMAX TX TABLET are headache, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, abnormal blood pressure, impaired vision, abnormal mental status, skin rashes, dizziness and fits or seizures.

Is PYNOMAX TX TABLET safe for use in patients with impaired kidney function?

PYNOMAX TX TABLET is not recommended for use in patients with severe kidney impairment.  PYNOMAX TX TABLET should be used with caution in patients with mild to moderate kidney impairment and your doctor may adjust the dose depending upon kidney function. Consult your doctor for advice before taking PYNOMAX TX TABLET.

Does PYNOMAX TX TABLET cause loose stools?

PYNOMAX TX TABLET can cause side effects such as loose stools. To manage this effect, drink lot of fluids, such as water to keep yourself hydrated. Avoid eating high-fat or spicy foods. Try to avoid taking any medicine on your own to treat diarrhea and consult your doctor if the symptom gets worse.

Is PYNOMAX TX TABLET used for heavy menstrual bleeding?

PYNOMAX TX TABLET is used only when your periods are regular to control heavy menstrual bleeding. It reduces the amount of blood lost during your period but may not help other symptoms such as period pain. Do not take this medicine if your periods are not heavy. Consult your doctor before taking PYNOMAX TX TABLET.

What are the common side effects of PYNOMAX TX TABLET?

The most common side effects of taking PYNOMAX TX TABLET are nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, headache, tiredness, muscle cramps, migraine, anemia (lack of red blood cells), stomach pain, sinus and nasal symptoms. Consult your doctor immediately if any of the side effect worsens.     

Can PYNOMAX TX TABLET be used in pregnant women?

PYNOMAX TX TABLET should be used with caution in pregnant women only if clearly advised by the doctor. Inform your doctor immediately if you become pregnant or think you may be pregnant before taking PYNOMAX TX TABLET.
