PROTOPAN I CAPSULE is a combination of Itopride and Pantoprazole which belongs to the group of medicines called Gastrokinetic agent and Proton pump inhibitors. It is used in the treatment of Gastroesophageal Reflux Disease when monotherapy alone is not enough for some patients. PROTOPAN I CAPSULE also treats Zollinger-Ellison syndrome and stomach and duodenal ulcers.
Along with PROTOPAN I CAPSULE your doctor might want you to make some lifestyle changes such as having a balanced diet and exercising.
PROTOPAN I CAPSULE is not recommended for use in patients having gastrointestinal haemorrhage, obstruction, or perforation. Consult your doctor before taking.
PROTOPAN I CAPSULE should be used with caution in patients having severe liver disease, osteoporosis, cancer. PROTOPAN I CAPSULE should be used with caution in pregnant women and is contraindicated in breastfeeding women. Consult your doctor before taking.

The most common side effects of using PROTOPAN I CAPSULE are headache, nausea, vomiting, flatulence, joint pain, diarrhoea and dizziness. Contact your doctor if any of these side effects worsen or doesn’t improve.
It is used to treat:
PROTOPAN I CAPSULE is a combination of Itopride and Pantoprazole where Itopride acts by increasing the movement (peristalsis) in the gastrointestinal tract and Pantoprazole works by stopping the production of acid by inhibiting certain enzymes (H+/K+ ATPase) at the surface of the cells present in the gastric lining.
Take this medicine as advised by your doctor. Swallow the medicine with a glass of water as a whole and do not crush or chew the medicine. Your doctor will prescribe the right dose depending on your age, body weight and disease condition.
Nausea or Vomiting:
Take this medicine with, or just after meals. Stick to simple meals. Avoid eating rich or spicy food. Drink clear or ice-cold drinks, eat light, bland foods and avoid fried, oily, or sweet foods.
Headache:
Try to rest and relax. Do not involve yourself in rigorous activities. Apply a pain-relieving balm on your forehead.
Diarrhea:
Drink lots of fluids, such as water or fruit juice to keep yourself hydrated. Do not consume any medicine on your own without consulting your doctor.

Do not drive or use machinery if you feel dizziness and disturbed vision after taking PROTOPAN I CAPSULE.
