What PROGYNON 10MG is used for?

It is used, 

  • in peri- and post-menopausal women to reduce moderate to severe hot flashes
  • to prevent osteoporosis after menopause

Talk to your doctor before taking this medicine, if you:

  • are allergic to estradiol or any of the ingredients in this medicine
  • have a past or family history of carcinoma of the breast, endometrial carcinoma or liver disease
  • have deep venous thrombosis, thromboembolic disorders, cerebral vascular accident associated with oestrogen use
  • have abnormal genital bleeding of unknown cause
  • have unusual vaginal bleeding
  • have had certain cancers
  • have a stroke or heart attack in the past year
  • have had blood clots
  • have had liver problems
  • PROGYNON 10MG should not be used during pregnancy
  • Tell your doctor if you are breastfeeding. The hormone in PROGYNON 10MG can pass into your milk
  • If you are pregnant or planning to become pregnant, stop taking this medicine and consult your doctor
  • PROGYNON 10MG is not for use in adolescents or children
  • No effects on ability to drive and use machines have been observed

Tell your doctor about any other medicine you are taking,

  • anticonvulsants like phenytoin and carbamazepine, barbiturates
  • anti-infectives like rifampicin, rifabutin, nevirapine or penicillin
  • antidiabetics or insulin
  • PROGYNON 10MG will be given by your doctor or nurse

  • increased risk of breast cancer, endometrial cancer
  • stroke and deep vein thrombosis
  • breast tenderness, breast pain, breast lumps
  • abdominal pain
  • nausea, oedema and headache
  • skin rash and itching
  • insomnia and depression
  • unusual vaginal bleeding
  • dizziness and faintness
  • changes in speech
  • severe headaches
  • chest pain
  • shortness of breath
  • pains in your legs
  • changes in vision
  • vomiting
  • breast pain
  • irregular vaginal bleeding or spotting
  • stomach/abdominal cramps, bloating
  • nausea and vomiting
  • hair loss
  • high blood pressure
  • high blood sugar
  • fluid retention
  • enlargement of benign tumors of the uterus (“fibroids”)
  • vaginal yeast infection
