What is PIVASTA 4MG?
- PIVASTA 4MG contains Pitavastatin calcium which belongs to a group of medicines called statins

Talk to your doctor before taking this medicine, if you:
- are allergic (hypersensitive) to Pitavastatin or any of the other ingredients of this medicine
- have kidney, liver or hypothyroidism
- have diabetes
- If you are pregnant or breast-feeding, think you may be pregnant or planning to have baby, ask your doctor for advice before taking this medicine
- PIVASTA 4MG may cause fetal harm when administered to pregnant women. PIVASTA 4MG should be discontinued as soon as pregnancy is recognized
- Always take this medicine exactly as your doctor has told you
- The dose range for PIVASTA 4MG is 1 to 4 mg orally once daily at any time of the day with or without food
- The recommended starting dose is 2 mg and the maximum dose is 4 mg
If you use more PIVASTA 4MG
- If you have taken more PIVASTA 4MG than you should, talk to your doctor or local hospital accident and emergency department
If you forgot to take PIVASTA 4MG
- Do not take a double dose to make up for forgotten individual doses. If you have forgotten to take your medicine, take it as soon as you remember. If your next dose is due within 2 hours, take the dose now and skip the next one
If you stop taking PIVASTA 4MG
- Do not stop taking the PIVASTA 4MG until the doctor has told you to do so
Like all medicines, this medicine can cause side effects although not everybody gets them.

Muscle problems marked by:
- severe muscle pain
- muscle tenderness
- muscle weakness
Kidney problems marked by:
- tiredness
- confusion
- nausea
- shortness of breath
- swelling of your legs, ankles, or feet
- decreased urination
Liver problems marked by:
- jaundice (yellowing of your skin or the whites of your eyes)
- itching
- pain in the upper right side of the stomach area
- nausea
- vomiting
- loss of appetite
- dark-colored urine
- pale-colored or dark, tarry stools
- tiredness
- bruising easily
