What PICASA 300MG is used for?

  • It is used to prevent fungal infections that can spread throughout your body (invasive fungal infections)

Talk to your Doctor, if you:

  • are allergic or hypersensitive to Posaconazole or any of the other ingredients of this medicine
  • have or have ever had liver problems
  • have a weakness of the heart muscle or heart failure
  • have a very slow heartbeat
  • have heart rhythm disturbance
  • If you are pregnant or breastfeeding, think you may be pregnant or are planning to have a baby, ask your doctor for advice before taking this medicine
[CHILDADOLESCENTS]
  • You may feel dizzy, sleepy or have blurred vision while taking this medicine, which may affect your ability to drive or use tools or machines. If this happens, do not drive or use any tools or machines

Tell your doctor if you are taking,

  • ergotamine or dihydroergotamine
  • simvastatin, atorvastatin or lovastatin (used to lower cholesterol level)
  • vincristine, vinblastine (used to treat cancer)
  • terfenadine, astemizole (used to treat allergies)
  • cisapride (used to treat stomach problems)
  • pimozide (used to treat symptoms of Tourette’s disorder)
  • halofantrine (used to treat malaria)
  • quinidine (used to treat abnormal heart rhythms)
  • rifabutin and rifampicin (used to treat certain infections)
  • phenytoin, carbamazepine, phenobarbital or primidone (used to treat or prevent fits)
  • efavirenz, lopinavir and atazanavir, ritonavir and fosamprenavir (used to treat HIV infection)
  • tacrolimus and sirolimus (used during or after transplant surgery)
  • midazolam, triazolam, alprazolam (used as sedatives or muscle relaxants)
  • diltiazem, verapamil, nifedipine (used to treat high blood pressure)
  • PICASA 300MG will be given to you by a doctor or nurse

Like all medicines, this medicine can cause side effects, although not everybody gets them.

  • signs of liver problems, these include yellowing of your skin or whites of the eyes, unusually dark urine or pale faeces, stomach problems, loss of appetite or unusual tiredness or weakness, an increase in liver enzymes shown up in blood tests
