What PEPCHEK is used for?

  • It is used in the treatment of Gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD) not responding with Rabeprazole alone

Talk to your doctor if you:

  • are allergic to any other ingredients of this medicine
  • have blood or liver problems
  • have a stomach tumour
  • have or had skin reaction
  • have osteoporosis
  • have vitamin B12 deficiency
  • have any gastrointestinal problems
  • This medicine is not recommended during pregnancy and breast-feeding. Consult your doctor for advice
  • This medicine is not recommended for children
  • Do not drive or operate any machines while taking this medicine since it may cause sleepiness

Tell your doctor if you are taking,

  • medicines used to treat infections
  • medicines used to treat gastrointestinal problems
  • methotrexate (medicine used to treat cancer)
  • atropine
  • corticosteroids
  • Always take this medicine exactly as your doctor has told you
  • This medicine should be taken with a glass of water
  • It should not be chewed or crushed

If you take more PEPCHEK  

  • If you have taken more of this medicine, contact your doctor or go to nearest immediately

If you forget to take PEPCHEK

  • If you have forgotten to take a dose, take it immediately when you remember and continue the treatment as usual. If it is almost time to take the next dose, you should not take the forgotten dose
  • Do not take a double dose to make up for a forgotten dose

If you stop taking PEPCHEK

  • Do not stop taking this medicine unless your doctor tells to do so

Like all medicines, this medicine can cause side effects, although not everybody gets them.

  • sudden swelling of your face, difficulty breathing or low blood pressure which may cause fainting
  • difficulty in sleeping (insomnia), headache, dizziness
  • cough, running nose (rhinitis) or sore throat (pharyngitis)
  • stomach upset
  • back pain
  • weakness
  • nervousness
  • sleepiness or drowsiness
  • painful and blocked sinuses (sinusitis)
  • dry mouth
  • indigestion or belching
  • skin rash or redness of the skin
  • muscle pain, leg cramps or joint pain
  • fracture of the hip, wrist or spine (on long term use)
  • bladder infection (urinary tract infection)
  • chills or fever
  • sore throat or high temperature or ulcers in your mouth or throat
  • bruising or bleeding easily
  • loss of appetite (anorexia)
  • visual disturbance
  • taste disturbance
  • sweating
  • weight gain
  • severe skin blistering
  • low blood levels of sodium such as tiredness and confusion, muscle twitching, fits (Hyponatremia)
  • confusion
  • swelling in the limbs
  • breast swelling in men
