What is PELOX Injection used for?

PELOX Injection is an anti-infective and antibacterial drug used to treat severe bacterial infections. PELOX Injection belongs to the fluoroquinolone class of antibacterials.

PELOX Injection tablets

PELOX Injection tablets are used to treat bacterial infections in the gastrointestinal system, genitourinary tract infections and uncomplicated gonococcal urethritis in males.

PELOX Injection tablets may also be prescribed for the treatment of skin and soft tissue infections, bone and joint infections, abdominal infections, renal infections, and lower respiratory tract infections such as bronchitis and pneumonia.

PELOX Injection eye drops

PELOX Injection eye drops is indicated for the treatment of bacterial infections of the eye, including conjunctivitis, keratitis, corneal ulcers, blepharitis, dacryocystitis, keratoconjunctivitis, trachoma, blepharoconjunctivitis and meibomianitis.PELOX Injection eye drops is also used before and after ocular surgery.

PELOX Injection may also be used to treat other conditions as determined by your doctor.

How to take PELOX Injection ?

The dosage of PELOX Injection prescribed to each patient will vary. Always follow your physician’s instructions and/or the directions on the prescription drug label.

PELOX Injection tabletsshould be taken with food.

If your physician has instructed or directed you to use PELOX Injection medication in a regular schedule and you have missed a dose of this medicine, use it as soon as you remember. However, if it is almost time for your next dose, then skip the missed dose and go back to your regular dosing schedule. Do not double the doses to catch up for the missed dose.

Any medication used in excess can have serious consequences. If you suspect an overdose of PELOX Injection , seek medical attention immediately.

What other drugs could interact with PELOX Injection ?

  • Foscarnet
  • Glimeperide
  • Pirenzepine
  • Piroxicam
  • Probenecid
  • Quercetin
  • Sucralfate
  • Theophylline
  • Vincristine

It may be noted that drugs other than those listed above may also interact with PELOX Injection tablets.

PELOX Injection tabletscan interact with the following types of medicines: antacids, iron supplements, nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs and oral hypoglycemic drugs.

There are no known interactions between PELOX Injection eye drops and other medicines.

Usually drug interactions occur when it is used with another drug or with food. Before you use a medication for a particular ailment, you should inform the health expert about intake of any other medications including non-prescription medications (over-the-counter products) and dietary supplements like vitamins, minerals and herbal, which may increase the effect of PELOX Injection , so that the doctor can warn you of any possible drug interactions.
