INTRODUCTION

PATADIN 5MG contain olopatadine which belongs to a group of medicine called antihistamines. It is used to treat allergic rhinitis, hives, and itch associated with skin diseases. This medicine suppresses production and release of allergic substances (histamine, etc.) in the body. It also resolves and relieves allergic symptoms in skin and nose by inhibiting activities of these allergic substances.

PATADIN 5MG works by counteracting the effects of histamine, which is produced naturally by your body’s defense system, but may be overproduced in allergic reactions. The common side effects are sleepiness, malaise, dry mouth, hypersensitivity (rash, edema, itch, breathing difficulty), abdominal discomfort, headache, dull headache and dizziness.

Always take PATADIN 5MG exactly as your doctor has told you. This medicine must be taken with or without food and try to take at the same time each day. It should be swallowed whole with water. Before taking this medicine tell your doctor if you have ever had kidney disease, heart disease, liver problems. Pregnant and breastfeeding women should consult their doctor before taking this medicine.

HOW PATADIN 5MG WORKS

PATADIN 5MG works by counteracting the effects of histamine, which is produced naturally by your body’s defense system, but may be overproduced in allergic reactions.

DIRECTIONS FOR USE

Always take PATADIN 5MG exactly as your doctor has told you. This medicine must be taken with or without food and try to take at the same time each day. It should be swallowed whole with water. Do not crush or chew the medicine.

SIDE EFFECTS OF PATADIN 5MG

COMMON

HOW TO MANAGE SIDE EFFECTS

Sleepiness:

Get up and move around to feel awake. Take a nap to take the edge off the sleepiness. Give your eyes a break to avoid weakness.

Abdominal discomfort:

Try to rest and relax. Eat and drink slowly or have smaller and frequent meals. Applying heat pad or covered hot water bottle on your stomach. If still pain persists, speak to your doctor.

Headache:

Apply hot or cold-water bag on your head. Take rest in a quiet and dark room. Drink tea or coffee.

Dizziness:

Get up and move around to feel awake, take small naps to edge off the sleepiness. Give your eyes a break to avoid fatigue and eat a healthy food to boost energy.

BREASTFEEDING

PATADIN 5MG should be used with caution in breast feeding women. Consult your doctor before taking.

DRIVING AND USING MACHINES

Do not drive or operate machinery while taking this medicine, since it may cause sleepiness.

ALCOHOL

Consumption of alcohol is not recommended during treatment with PATADIN 5MG.

KIDNEY

PATADIN 5MG should be used with caution in patients suffering from active kidney diseases. Consult your doctor for advice.

LIVER

PATADIN 5MG should be used with caution in patients suffering from liver function impairment or active liver diseases. Consult your doctor for advice.

ALLERGY

Do not take PATADIN 5MG if you are allergic (hypersensitive) to olopatadine or any other ingredients in this medicine. Consult your doctor for advice.
