INTRODUCTION

PANEX CR 25MG contains an antidepressant medicine called paroxetine which belongs to a group of medicines called selective serotonin re-uptake inhibitors. It used in adults to treat depressive and anxiety disorders like major depression, obsessive compulsive disorder, panic disorder, social anxiety disorders, anxiety after traumatic experience or generalized anxiety disorder.

Endogenous serotonin is responsible for stabilization of mood, feelings of well-being and happiness. It also helps with proper sleeping, eating and digestion. Lower levels of serotonin leads to depression or anxiety . Paroxetine inhibits presynaptic reuptake of serotonin and this inhibition raises the level of serotonin in the synaptic cleft, relieving various depressive and anxiety symptoms.
