ORNI 500MG contains Ornidazole which belongs to a group of medicines called anti-protozoal agents. It is used to treat bacterial vaginosis, trichomoniasis, genitourinary infections in women and men, amoebiasis, giardiasis (lambliasis), infections due to anaerobic bacteria and treats infections such as septicaemia, meningitis, peritonitis, postoperative wound infections, puerperal sepsis, septic abortion, and endometritis with demonstrated or suspected involvement of susceptible bacteria. It is also used to guard against the possibility of these types of infections during surgery (prophylaxis).
Ornidazole work by targeting the bacteria or amoeba in the body and works against them. Before taking ORNI 500MG inform your doctor if you have any epilepsy, liver, kidney or heart problems. Consult your doctor for advice if you are pregnant or breastfeeding and it will be prescribed by your doctor, if it is absolutely necessary. The common side effects are nausea, abnormal taste, tremors and allergic skin reactions.
ORNI 500MG works by inhibiting the growth of microorganism and stops the growth of infection-causing organisms.
Always take ORNI 500MG as instructed by your doctor. Swallow whole and do not crush or chew.
Nausea:
Drink clear or ice-cold drinks, eat bland foods and avoid fried or sweet foods.
Headache:
Rest and drink plenty of fluids. Apply a wet or cold cloth to forehead and rest in a quiet, comfortable, dark room.
There is no clinical data available, the safe use of ORNI 500MG during pregnancy has not been established. Your doctor will weigh the benefits and any potential risks before prescribing it to you.
It is not known whether ORNI 500MG is excreted in human milk. Consult your doctor for advice.
Do not drive or handle any machines if you experience dizziness, tremor, rigidity, poor coordination, seizures, vertigo or temporary loss of consciousness while taking this medicine.
Consumption of alcohol is not recommended while taking this ORNI 500MG.

Do not stop taking the medicine abruptly and complete the full course of treatment even if you feel better.
