OMNIX CV is a combination of Cefixime and Clavulanic Acid which belongs to the group of medicines called Antibiotics. It is used to treat bacterial infections of the ear, nose, throat, respiratory tract (bronchus, lungs), urinary tract and genital tract. It can also be used in the treatment of typhoid fever.
A bacterial infection can be defined as a proliferation of various harmful strains of bacteria within the body. They can affect any part(s) of the body including the respiratory tract, urinary tract, reproductive tract, eyes, ears, skin, soft tissue or bones.
Take OMNIX CV for the stipulated duration as instructed by the doctor to achieve better results. Failing to complete the full course of the therapy or skipping doses in between the therapy may not result in adequate infection control.

OMNIX CV is a powerful antibiotic. It contains two medicines namely, cefixime and clavulanic acid. Cefixime kills the susceptible bacteria by blocking the bacterial cell wall synthesis.
Clavulanic acid stops the bacteria from producing toxic proteins (such as beta lactamases) that can reduce the effects of antibiotics. Collectively, these actions destroy the susceptible bacteria, prevent their further growth and multiplication which in turn reduces the severity of the infection.
Take OMNIX CV as advised by your physician. It can be taken with or without food.
For Tablets: Swallow the medicine with a glass of water. Do not crush or chew the medicine
For Dispersible Tablet: Disperse the medicine in required quantity of water before consumption. Consume the dispersed medicine immediately after dissolution. Do not swallow the medicine as a whole or crush or chew it.
Your doctor will decide the correct dose and duration of therapy for you depending upon your age, body weight and severity of the infection. Do not skip doses or stop taking OMNIX CV without consulting your doctor as it may increase the severity of the infection.
Stop taking OMNIX CV and contact your doctor immediately if you experience any of the following side effects:
Nausea or vomiting:
Take OMNIX CV with, or just after meals. Stick to simple meals. Avoid eating oil rich or spicy foods. Please consult your doctor immediately if you experience severe nausea and vomiting.
Headache:
Rest and relax. Keep yourself hydrated by drinking plenty of fluids such as water or electrolytes. Applying a pain-relieving balm on your forehead can be beneficial. Do not consume excessive alcohol, as it could aggravate your headache. Consult your doctor if your headache worsens.
Dizziness:
Try to rest and relax. Get enough sleep. Avoid driving or operating any tools or machines completely while you are feeling dizzy. Do not consume excessive alcohol, as it could aggravate your dizziness. Consult your doctor if your dizziness worsens.
OMNIX CV should be used in pregnant women only if it is considered necessary by the physician. Therefore, consult your doctor for advice before taking it.
OMNIX CV should be used with caution among breastfeeding women. Therefore, consult your doctor before taking it.
Do not drive or operate any heavy tools or machines if your ability is affected by OMNIX CV.
Avoid consumption of alcohol while taking OMNIX CV as it might make you feel dizzier.

Do not take OMNIX CV if you are allergic to Cefixime or Clavulanic acid.

What should I do if I forgot to take a dose of OMNIX CV?
If you forgot to take a dose of OMNIX CV, take it as soon as you remember. However, if it is time to take the next dose, skip the missed dose and take the next one at regular times. Do not take a double dose to compensate the forgotten dose.
