OLYFER XT TABLET is a combination of Ferrous ascorbate, Folic acid and Zinc sulphate which belongs to the group of medicines called Haematinics. It is used for the treatment of anaemia caused by iron deficiency. Iron deficiency anaemia is when your body can't produce enough haemoglobin (a substance in red blood cells that enables them to carry oxygen), due to insufficient iron.
OLYFER XT TABLET is not recommended for use in patients with untreated cobalamin deficiency, Addisonian pernicious anaemia or malignant disease (except megaloblastic anaemia). Before taking OLYFER XT TABLET, inform your doctor if you have hemochromatosis, hemoglobinopathies, any gastrointestinal diseases or anaemias other than those due to iron deficiency or if you are receiving repeated blood transfusions.
OLYFER XT TABLET is safe to use during pregnancy and breastfeeding, but consult your doctor before taking it. The most common side effects of taking OLYFER XT TABLET are digestive tract problems like abdominal pain, vomiting, diarrhoea, constipation, black stools, indigestion, etc. Consult your doctor if any of your symptoms get worse.
OLYFER XT TABLET treats anaemia where ferrous ascorbate acts as an iron supplement to prevent iron deficiency anaemia, folic acid helps the body make healthy new cells, especially in pregnant women and zinc sulphate stimulates the activity of many enzymes in the body, supports a healthy immune system to make DNA and plays an important role in proper body development during childhood, adolescence and pregnancy.
Take OLYFER XT TABLET as advised by your physician. Swallow it with a glass of water. Do not crush or chew the medicine. Your doctor will decide the correct dose and duration of OLYFER XT TABLET for you based on your age, body weight and disease condition.
