What OLVAN TRIO 20MG is used for?

It is used to:

  • treat high blood pressure (hypertension)
  • treat heart failure
  • help reduce the fluid retention that occurs with some kidney or liver diseases
  • treat diabetes insipidus

Tell your doctor before taking this medicine, if you:

  • are allergic (hypersensitive) to Chlortalidone, Olmesartan and Clinidipine are not passing any urine at all
  • have severe kidney or liver problems
  • have ever had gout
  • have Addison’s disease (which is a condition where your adrenal gland is not producing enough steroids)
  • suffer from yellowing of the skin and eyes (jaundice) or problems with drainage of the bile from the gallbladder (biliary obstruction e.g. gallstones).
  • have high cholesterol levels
  • are elderly
  • have or had severe aortic stenosis
  • have or had cardiogenic shock
  • have recent history of unstable angina or Myocardial Infarction (MI)
  • have or had heart failure and hypotension

Tell your doctor if you are taking or have recently taken any of the following:

  • adrenocorticotropic hormone (ACTH) - used to treat many different conditions, including ulcerative colitis, Crohn's disease and rheumatoid arthritis

  • If you forget to take a dose, take it as soon as possible, unless it is almost time to take the next dose. Do not take a double dose

Chlorthalidone

  • muscles feel weak or will not work properly
  • irregular heartbeat

Olmesartan

  • allergic reactions such as breathing problems, fainting (anaphylactic reactions)
  • pain or a tight or heavy feeling in the chest, especially when exercising
  • swelling of the face, mouth and/or larynx (voice box) together with itching and rash may occur during treatment with this medicine
  • difficulty or pain when urinating, with changes in the colour and amount of urine passed. pain in the lower back, feeling or being sick, feeling generally unwell

Clinidipine

  • dizziness
  • swelling of face, lips, eyelids, tongue, hands and feet
  • fast heartbeat

  • low levels of magnesium
  • high blood sugar levels which can cause tiredness, weakness or feeling thirsty

  • infection of the urinary tract
  • blood in the urine
  • swelling of ankles, feet, legs, hands and arms

Cilnidipine

  • hypotension
  • shaking of hands or feet
  • skin rash
  • increased urination frequency
  • stomach pain
  • diarrhea
