What is Olmesartan used for?
Olmesartan is used to treat high blood pressure (hypertension). This medication relaxes and expands the blood vessels thereby lowering the blood pressure levels, which helps prevent heart attacks, strokes, and kidney problems. Olmesartan works by blocking the action of a hormone called angiotensin II. This medicine may also be used to treat other conditions as determined by your doctor.
How to take Olmesartan?
The dosage of Olmesartan prescribed to each patient will vary. Always follow your physician’s instructions and/or the directions on the prescription drug label.
Take Olmesartan by mouth. It can be taken with or without food.
If your physician has instructed or directed you to take Olmesartan medication in a regular schedule and you have missed a dose of this medicine, take it as soon as you remember.
