NUMBTRON INJECTION contains Mecobalamin which belongs to the group of medicines called Vitamins. It is used to treat diabetic neuropathy (nerve damage caused by diabetes), peripheral neuropathy (peripheral nerve damage that affects hands, feet and arms), and megaloblastic anaemia (blood disorder) that occurs due to vitamin B12 deficiency in affected individuals.
NUMBTRON INJECTION is not recommended for use in patients allergic to Mecobalamin, and/or Cobalt. Before receiving NUMBTRON INJECTION, inform your doctor if you have Leber's disease (inherited form of vision loss), low potassium level (with associated signs such as muscle twitches/cramps, low blood pressure), optic nerve disease (swelling and nerve damage to the eyes), and kidney/liver problems.
NUMBTRON INJECTION should be used with caution in pregnant and breastfeeding women. It is not recommended for use in children and adolescents (aged below 18 years) unless it is clearly necessary and is advised to be used with caution in elderly patients (aged 65 years and above) after consulting the doctor.
The most common side effects of receiving NUMBTRON INJECTION are headache, nausea, vomiting, diarrhoea, loss of appetite, skin rash, and/or hot flushes. Consult your doctor if any of these symptoms worsens.
NUMBTRON INJECTION works by aiding in the synthesis of myelin (lipid rich material that covers nerve fibres) which helps in protecting the nerve fibres and thereby providing relief from diabetic & peripheral neuropathy in affected individuals. It also promotes nucleic acid synthesis in the bone marrow which helps in the maturation and division of erythroblasts thus preventing poor production of red blood cells and thereby improving megaloblastic anaemia in affected individuals.
NUMBTRON INJECTION will be given to you only by a doctor or a nurse into a muscle as an intramuscular injection. Your doctor will decide the correct dose and duration for you depending upon your age, body weight and disease condition.
Stop receiving NUMBTRON INJECTION and contact your doctor immediately if you experience any of the following side effects:
Drink plenty of water and stay hydrated. Try to avoid taking any medicine on your own to treat diarrhea. Consult your doctor and inform them if the symptom gets worse.
Receive NUMBTRON INJECTION with or just after a meal. Stick to simple meals. Avoid eating oil rich or spicy foods, sugary snacks and drinks. Avoid drinking too much liquid along with your meals, drink slowly in between meals. Talk with your doctor if the condition worsens.
If NUMBTRON INJECTION causes headache, then take rest and drink plenty of fluids. Try to avoid drinking alcohol. Ask your doctor to recommend a painkiller. Headaches should usually go away after the first week of receiving NUMBTRON INJECTION. If it lasts more than a week or severe, inform your doctor.
