INTRODUCTION

NRT TZ TABLET is a combination of Norfloxacin and Tinidazole which belongs to the group of medicines called Antibiotics and Antiprotozoal agents respectively. It is used in the treatment of diarrhea and dysentery of amoebic, bacterial or mixed origins.

Before taking NRT TZ TABLET inform your doctor if you have lung, liver or kidney disease or heart disorders.

NRT TZ TABLET is not recommended for patients with history of hypersensitivity reactions, tendinitis, or tendon rupture, organic neurological disorders and history of blood dyscrasia.

NRT TZ TABLET is not recommended for use in pregnant and breastfeeding women. Contact your doctor before taking.

NRT TZ TABLET is not recommended for use in children and adolescents under 18 years of age. Contact your doctor before taking.

NRT TZ TABLET should be used with caution in elderly patients aged above 65 years especially patients with renal impairment. Contact your doctor before taking.

The most common side effects of this medicine are  nausea, decreased appetite, headache, dizziness, fatigue, rash, abdominal pain and dyspepsia. Contact your doctor if any of the side effects worsen.

HOW NRT TZ TABLET WORKS

NRT TZ TABLET is a combination of Norfloxacin and Tinidazole. Norfloxacin belongs to fluoroquinolone that acts by stopping the multiplication of the disease causing bacteria. Tinidazole belongs to nitroimidazole acts against parasites and anaerobic bacteria that cause infections by damaging their DNA.

DIRECTIONS FOR USE

Take this medicine as advised by your physician. Swallow this medicine as whole with a glass of water and do not crush or chew the medicine. Your doctor will decide the right dose depends on your age, body weight and disease condition.

COMMON

HOW TO MANAGE SIDE EFFECTS

Dizziness Or Drowsiness

Try to rest and relax. Get enough sleep. Avoid driving or operate any machines while you are feeling dizzy. Do not consume alcohol, as it can aggravate your dizziness. Contact your doctor if the symptom did not improve.

Headache

Rest and relax. Drink plenty of fluids such as water or electrolytes and apply a pain-relieving balm on the head if necessary. Do not consume alcohol. Contact your doctor if the symptom did not improve.

Nausea And Vomiting

Take this medicine with, or just after meals. Stick to simple meals. Avoid eating oily or spicy foods.

ALLERGY
Contraindicated

Do not take NRT TZ TABLET if you are allergic to Norfloxacin, Tinidazole or to any other ingredients of this medicine.

USE IN PEDIATRICS

USE IN GERIATRICS
Use with Caution

OTHERS

NRT TZ TABLET is not recommended for use, if you have:

  • tendinitis, or tendon rupture
  • organic neurological disorders
  • a history of blood dyscrasia

INTERACTIONS

A. Drug - Drug interactions:

Before taking NRT TZ TABLET inform your physician, if you are taking any of the following medicines:

  • antacids (used to treat stomach ulcers)
  • probenecid (used to treat gout)
  • theophylline (used to treat breathing problems)
  • ciclosporin (used to prevent the body from rejecting a transplanted organ)
  • warfarin (treats blood clots)
  • disulfiram (used to treat chronic alcoholism)

B. Drug - Food interaction:

NRT TZ TABLET may cause reduced absorption of norfloxacin with milk or yogurt. Consult your doctor for advice.

Overdosage:

If you or anyone else accidentally took too much of this medicine, consult your doctor immediately.
