INTRODUCTION

NIOSOL F CREAM is a combination of Clobetasol and Fusidic acid which belongs to the group of medicines called Corticosteroids and Antibiotics respectively. It is used to treat skin infections such as impetigo (crusty and swollen patch on the skin with pus), psoriasis (itching), eczema, or dermatitis. It can also be used to treat cuts and wounds which are infected.

Eczema or dermatitis is a term for several different types of skin swelling that cause dry, itchy skin and rashes on the face, elbows, behind the knees, and on the hands and feet.

During course of the treatment your doctor might regularly examine your skin to avoid any unwanted side effects.

Avoid smoking while using NIOSOL F CREAM. Consult your doctor before using the medicine.

NIOSOL F CREAM is not recommended for use in children (ages less than 1 year). Before using NIOSOL F CREAM, inform your doctor if you have skin conditions like acne, rosacea, perioral dermatitis, viral or fungal skin infections, blisters caused by any infection, or if you are using it on your child.

NIOSOL F CREAM should be used with caution in pregnant women. NIOSOL F CREAM is not recommended for use in breastfeeding women.

The most common side effect of using NIOSOL F CREAM is skin irritation. Contact your doctor if any of the side effects worsen.

USES OF NIOSOL F CREAM

It is used to treat skin conditions such as:

  • impetigo
  • psoriasis
  • eczema, or dermatitis
  • infected cuts and wounds

HOW NIOSOL F CREAM WORKS

NIOSOL F CREAM treats skin infection where Clobetasol induces certain proteins (lipocortins), that control the production of inflammatory mediators like prostaglandins and leukotrienes, thus controlling inflammation, and Fusidic acid works against the bacteria by interfering with their protein synthesis.

DIRECTIONS FOR USE

Use NIOSOL F CREAM as directed by the physician. It is for external use only. Clean and dry the affected area and apply the medicine. Check the label for directions before use. Your doctor will decide the right dose depends on the age, body weight and disease condition.

SIDE EFFECTS OF NIOSOL F CREAM

COMMON

  • burning or irritation
  • raised bumps with pus under the skin

UNCOMMON

  • irritation at application site (pain, burning, itching, stinging and skin redness)
  • rash
  • eczema

RARE

  • eye infection and inflammation
  • hives, skin swelling, blistering

Stop using NIOSOL F CREAM and consult your doctor immediately if you experience any of the following side effects:

  • allergic reaction (difficulty breathing, swelling in face or throat, severe skin rash)
  • worsening of skin problem, or swelling of skin

PREGNANCY

DRIVING AND USING MACHINES

Consult your doctor if you feel any side effect during treatment with NIOSOL F CREAM that may stop you from driving or using machines.

ALLERGY

Do not use NIOSOL F CREAM if you are allergic to Clobetasol, Fusidic acid or any other ingredients of this medicine.

OTHERS

NIOSOL F CREAM is not recommended for use if you:

  • have acne
  • have rosacea
  • have perioral dermatitis
  • have itching around your anus or private parts
  • have viral infections like cold sores, herpes, or chicken pox
  • have fungal infections like ringworm, athletes foot, or thrush
  • have skin blisters or sores

Before taking NIOSOL F CREAM, inform your doctor if you:

  • are going to apply the medicine under an airtight dressing, like a child’s nappy
  • have psoriasis

If you accidentally get NIOSOL F CREAM in your eye, immediately wash it out with cold water. Then wash your eye with eyewash if possible. You may feel stinging in your eye. If you begin to have any problems with your sight or your eye is hurting, contact your doctor immediately.

Can I stop using NIOSOL F CREAM?

Do not stop using NIOSOL F CREAM unless your doctor advises you to stop. If you have any more doubts regarding the use of this medicine, ask your doctor.

What if I forget to apply a dose of NIOSOL F CREAM?

If you forget to apply a dose of NIOSOL F CREAM, do it as soon as you remember. However, omit the missed dose if it is almost time for the next dose. Do not use the medicine twice to make up for a forgotten dose.

Can NIOSOL F CREAM be used on infants?

No. NIOSOL F CREAM is not recommended for children (below 1 year of age). Your doctor will decide the correct dose or select a suitable alternative therapy for your child.

Can NIOSOL F CREAM be used in breastfeeding?

Before using NIOSOL F CREAM, inform your doctor if you are breast-feeding, or are planning to do so. NIOSOL F CREAM is not recommended for use during breast feeding. If you do use it when breast-feeding, do not apply it on your breast area so that the baby does not accidentally ingest the medicine.
