INTRODUCTION

NEXRED 180MG contains Bempedoic Acid which belongs to the group of medicines called Lipid lowering agents. It is used alone or together with cholesterol-lowering medicine (statins) to treat primary hypercholesterolaemia (condition in which blood cholesterol level rises above the normal limits) or mixed dyslipidaemia in adults when statins become intolerable to treat the condition in affected individuals.

Mixed dyslipidaemia is a condition that occurs due to elevations in low-density lipoprotein (LDL) (known as bad cholesterol) and triglyceride levels accompanied with low levels of high-density lipoprotein (HDL) (known as good cholesterol) which is generally characterized by the symptoms such as tightness/pain in chest, dizziness, and awareness of heartbeat (palpitation).

NEXRED 180MG is not recommended for use if you are allergic to bempedoic acid. It should be used with caution in patients with severe liver or kidney problems, and in patients with a history of gout (condition caused due to raised blood uric acid levels). It is not recommended for use in pregnant and breastfeeding women, also, not recommended for use in children and adolescents (aged below 18 years) and it should be used with caution in elderly patients (aged 75 years and above). Consult your doctor before taking NEXRED 180MG.

Before taking NEXRED 180MG, your doctor might advise you to take liver function test to assess your liver function. The most common side effects associated with the use of NEXRED 180MG are anaemia (lower number of red blood cells) and pain in shoulders, legs, or arms. Consult your doctor if any of the symptom worsens.
