What NEXIPRIDE is used for?
- It is indicated for the treatment of schizophrenia and depression in adults
Talk to your doctor before taking NEXIPRIDE, if you:
- are allergic to Levosulpiride or to any of the other ingredients of NEXIPRIDE have epilepsy
- are a patient in manic states or in the manic phase of manic-depressive psychosis
- have gastrointestinal bleeding, mechanical obstructions or perforations
- have heart disease
- have pheochromocytoma (tumor of the adrenal gland)
- have epilepsy
- have concomitant prolactin dependent tumors like pituitary gland prolactinomas and breast cancer
- had treatment with antipsychotic drugs
- Always take this medicine exactly as your doctor has told you
Schizophrenia:
- The recommended dose for adults is 200-300mg daily
- Maintenance therapy: The recommended maintenance dose is 150 mg daily. The dose can be reduced gradually on individual patient's response and recommendations by the doctor
Depression:
- For adults the usually recommended dosage is 100-150mg daily
If you take more NEXIPRIDE
- If you have taken more NEXIPRIDE, contact your doctor or go to nearest hospital immediately
If you forget to take NEXIPRIDE
- If you forget to take NEXIPRIDE, take it as soon as you remember
- If it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose
- Do not take two doses at the same time
If you stop taking NEXIPRIDE
- Do not stop taking this medicine unless your doctor tells you to stop your treatment
Like all medicines, this medicine can cause side effects, although not everybody gets them.
