NEBRACIN DM EYE DROPS is a combination of Dexamethasone and Tobramycin which belongs to the group of medicines called Corticosteroids and Antibiotics respectively. It is used to treat and prevent eye inflammation and infection.
It also helps in reducing eye pain, redness, itching and/or burning or stinging sensation following eye surgery (such as cataract or corneal refractive surgery). It is typically used in conditions which involves the risk of both eye inflammation and infection such as during injuries or post-surgery.
Use this medicine exactly as instructed by your physician. Misuse or overuse of this medicine may lead to unwanted side effects. If there is no improvement in your condition even after using this medicine for 7 days, consult your doctor for advice.
If you wear soft contact lenses, remove the lens before applying NEBRACIN DM EYE DROPS and wait for at least 15 minutes before reinsertion. NEBRACIN DM EYE DROPS is suitable for use both in adults and in children aged 2 years and above.
Before using NEBRACIN DM EYE DROPS inform your doctor if you have severe viral or fungal eye infections. You must also inform your doctor if you have glaucoma, diabetes, joint pain, muscle problems, parkinsonism or any disorders that may cause eye tissue layer thinning as a precaution.
Do not use NEBRACIN DM EYE DROPS without consulting your doctor if you are pregnant or breastfeeding. The most common side effects of using NEBRACIN DM EYE DROPS are mild eye irritation or burning sensation, watery eyes, increased eye pressure and taste changes. Consult your doctor if any of these side effect worsens.
It is used in adults and in children (aged 2 years or above) to:
NEBRACIN DM EYE DROPS contains two medicines namely, Dexamethasone and Tobramycin. Dexamethasone is a steroid medication. It blocks the release of certain chemicals in the body (such as prostaglandins) that causes inflammation, redness and swelling. When applied topically on the eyes, it reduces eye redness, soreness, pain, itching and swelling.
Tobramycin is an antibiotic. When applied topically on the eyes, it kills the susceptible bacteria that causes eye infection. Collectively, this medicine reduces inflammation and infection of the eyes.
Use NEBRACIN DM EYE DROPS as advised by your physician. It is for ophthalmic use only. Tilt your head slightly backwards and gently pull your lower eyelid. Instil few drops of this medicine into the eyes and close your eyes for 2 minutes. Repeat the same for the other eye if required. If you wear soft contact lenses, remove the lens before applying NEBRACIN DM EYE DROPS and wait for at least 15 minutes before reinsertion.
Wash your hands before and after application. Do not touch the tip of the container with your eyes, eyelids, areas around your eyes, outer surface of the ears or fingers, to avoid contamination. Leave a time gap of at least 5 minutes between this medicine and other eye medicines.
Your doctor will decide the correct dose and duration of therapy for you depending upon your age, body weight and health condition. If there is no improvement in your condition even after using this medicine for 7 days, consult your doctor for advice.
Stop using NEBRACIN DM EYE DROPS and contact your doctor immediately if you experience any of the following side effects:
Eye irritation:
Wash your eyes with plain cold water. Place an ice pack on your eye to ease the irritation. Avoid straining your eyes by looking at mobile phones, laptops or television. Wear protective eyeglasses while going outdoors.
Blurred vision:
Close your eyes and relax. Do not strain your eyes by looking at mobile phones, laptops or television. Avoid driving or operating any heavy tools or machines while your vision is blur. Consult your doctor if you experience blurred vision for a prolonged period.
NEBRACIN DM EYE DROPS is not recommended for use in pregnant women unless considered necessary by the physician. Therefore, consult your doctor before using it.
NEBRACIN DM EYE DROPS is not recommended for use in breastfeeding women unless considered necessary by the physician. Therefore, consult your doctor before using it.
Do not drive or operate any heavy tools or machinery if you experience blurred vision or light-headedness after using NEBRACIN DM EYE DROPS.
