INTRODUCTION

NC DERM + CREAM is a combination of Clobetasol, Miconazole and Neomycin which belongs to the group of medicines called Corticosteroids, Antifungals and Antibiotics. It is used to treat resistant dermatoses (skin infections) with secondary bacterial or fungal infection.

NC DERM + CREAM is not recommended for use in patients with rosacea, acne vulgaris, perioral dermatitis, perianal and genital pruritus, viral infections (ex. herpes simplex, chickenpox) and perforated eardrum. Contact your doctor before applying. NC DERM + CREAM should be used with caution in patients with liver or kidney disease. Contact your doctor before applying.

NC DERM + CREAM is generally not recommended for use in pregnancy unless considered clearly necessary. NC DERM + CREAM should be used with caution in breastfeeding women as it is not known whether it may pass through the breast milk. Contact your doctor before applying. NC DERM + CREAM is not recommended for use in children under 2 years of age. Contact your doctor before applying.

Dosage adjustment is not required for NC DERM + CREAM in the geriatric population. However, greater sensitivity of some older individuals cannot be ruled out. Contact your doctor before applying. The most common side effects of this medicine are skin rash, itching, redness, burning sensation and contact dermatitis. Contact your physician if any of the symptoms worsen.

HOW NC DERM + CREAM WORKS

NC DERM + CREAM helps to treat infection, where Clobetasol have anti-inflammatory, antipruritic, and vasoconstrictive properties, which blocks the production of certain chemical messengers (prostaglandins) that make the skin red, swollen, and itchy. Miconazole belongs to antifungal which stops the growth of fungi while Neomycin belongs to antibiotic which stops the growth of bacteria in the skin.

DIRECTIONS FOR USE

Apply NC DERM + CREAM as directed by your physician. It is for external use only. Wash your hands with soap and water and apply a thin layer of the medicine to the affected area of the skin and rub it gently. Avoid contact with eyes, face, groin or in the skin folds.

HOW TO MANAGE SIDE EFFECTS

Skin Rash Or Itching

Avoid hot showers because hot water can irritate the skin. Do not scratch the affected area. Use sunscreen and protective clothing when outdoors. Regularly use unscented moisturizers to soothe and hydrate the affected area. Contact your doctor if itching worsens.

INTERACTIONS

A. Drug-Drug interactions:

Before applying NC DERM + CREAM tell your doctor if you are taking,

  • ritonavir (medicines used for HIV infections)
  • itraconazole (medicines used for fungal infections)
  • amikacin, gentamicin (medicines used for bacterial infections)
  • neuromuscular blocking agents like atracurium, pancuronium (medicines used in anaesthesia)
  • warfarin (medicines used to treat or prevent blood clots)

Overdosage:

If you or anyone else accidentally uses too much of NC DERM + CREAM, consult your doctor immediately or visit the nearby hospital.
