What is NATFOST 500MG?
- NATFOST 500MG contains Amifostine which belongs to a group of medicines called antineoplastic agent
What NATFOST 500MG is used for?
It is indicated to reduce the:
- cumulative renal toxicity associated with repeated administration of cisplatin in patients with advanced ovarian cancer
- incidence of moderate to severe xerostomia in patients undergoing post-operative radiation treatment for head and neck cancer, where the radiation port includes a substantial portion of the parotid glands

Talk to your Doctor, if you:
- are allergic to any of the other ingredients of this medicine
- are receiving definitive or effectiveness of radiotherapy
- are receiving chemotherapy for certain malignancies of germ cell origin
- have preexisting cardiovascular or cerebrovascular conditions such as ischemic heart disease, arrhythmias, congestive heart failure, or history of stroke or transient ischemic attacks
- If you are pregnant or breastfeeding, think you may be pregnant or are planning to have a baby, ask your doctor for advice before taking this medicine
- It is recommended that breast feeding to be discontinued if the mother is treated with NATFOST 500MG
Tell your doctor if you are taking,
- medicines used to treat hypertension
- NATFOST 500MG will be given to you by a doctor or nurse
If you receive more NATFOST 500MG
- If you are concerned that you are given too much of medicines, contact your doctor or nurse
- At the higher doses, anxiety and reversible urinary retention occurred. Symptoms are increased nausea, vomiting, hypotension
Like all medicines, this medicine can cause side effects, although not everybody gets them.
- hypotension
- skin reactions including erythema multiforme, Stevens-Johnson syndrome, toxic epidermal necrolysis, toxoderma and exfoliative dermatitis
- shortness of breath
- chest pain
- rash, flushing or itching
- nausea and vomiting
- Keep this medicine out of reach of children
- Store at a room temperature of 15-25°C
