NASOFINE contains a combination of Chlorhexidine and Neomycin, which belongs to the group of medicines called antiseptic and disinfectant and aminoglycosides antibiotics. It is used to treat and prevent infections in the nose. NASOFINE is for topical use in the nose only.
Chlorhexidine kills bacteria by destroying the bacteria’s cell wall. Neomycin kills bacteria by blocking the protein production done by the bacteria for its survival. Do not use NASOFINE immediately after facewash or with certain soaps as this medicine may not work properly.
Do not apply NASOFINE if you are allergic to chlorhexidine, neomycin (or other aminoglycoside antibiotics such as gentamycin, streptomycin etc.), peanuts or soya. Pregnant and breastfeeding women are advised to consult your physician before using NASOFINE. The possible side effects of applying NASOFINE may include skin irritation, temporary loss of sensation to taste or smell, redness or itching, painful urination or blood in the urine.
