INTRODUCTION

NADIZOB contains Nadifloxacin which belongs to the group of medicines called Antibiotics. It is used to treat certain forms of bacterial skin infections including acne.

Nadifloxacin is a topical antibacterial agent. It acts by stopping the growth and multiplication of the susceptible bacteria that causes skin infections including acne. NADIZOB is suitable for use in both adults and in adolescents aged 14 years or above. It can be used safely along with other acne preparations.

NADIZOB is for external use only. Avoid contact of this medicine with your eyes, ears, nose, lips, mouth or in areas where there are open wounds. Apply the medicine twice daily or as directed by the physician. Continue to use this medicine for the stipulated duration as instructed by your doctor to obtain better results.

While using this medicine, avoid direct contact of the application site to sunrays or to other light sources. Use sunscreen and wear protective clothes (that covers the application site) while going outdoors as a precaution. NADIZOB is not recommended for use in breastfeeding women.

Consult your doctor before using this medicine if you are pregnant or think you may be pregnant or planning to have a baby. NADIZOB is generally safe and well tolerated. However, if you experience any unpleasant skin reactions, consult your doctor for advice.

USES OF NADIZOB

  • Treats acne and other bacterial skin infections

HOW NADIZOB WORKS

NADIZOB is a topical antibacterial agent. It destroys the susceptible bacteria that causes skin infections by blocking the production of certain enzymes (DNA gyrase) which is required for its survival.

DIRECTIONS FOR USE

Use NADIZOB as directed by your physician. It is for external use only. Wash your hands with soap and water before and after application. Apply a thin layer of NADIZOB on the affected area and rub it gently into the skin. It can be applied twice daily (i.e., at morning and at bedtime). However, your doctor will decide the number of times that you need to apply NADIZOB in a day depending upon your skin conditions.

Avoid contact of this medicine with open wounds or areas around your eyes, nose, or mouth. Do not skip application or discontinue the use of NADIZOB without consulting your doctor. Continue to use this medicine for the stipulated duration (preferably 8 weeks) as instructed by your doctor to obtain better results.

SIDE EFFECTS OF NADIZOB

COMMON

  • itching, irritation, and redness at the site of application
  • flushing of the face with warmth
  • peeling of the skin, skin dryness
  • pustules
  • changes in skin colour

RARE

Stop applying NADIZOB and contact your doctor immediately if you experience any of the following side effects:

  • severe skin itching, discomfort, blisters, cyst, or any severe condition

HOW TO MANAGE SIDE EFFECTS

Skin itching, irritation, or redness:

Avoid hot showers because hot water can irritate your skin further. Do not scratch the affected area. Use protective clothing while going outdoors. Consult your doctor for a suitable moisturizer that suits your skin. If your condition worsens, inform your doctor.

PREGNANCY

Consult your doctor before using NADIZOB if you are pregnant or think you may be pregnant or planning to have a baby. Your doctor will access your condition and prescribes it to you only if it is necessary.

BREASTFEEDING

NADIZOB is not recommended for use in breastfeeding women. Therefore, consult your doctor before using it.

DRIVING AND USING MACHINES

NADIZOB does not affect your ability to drive or handling any heavy tools or machines.

ALLERGY

Do not apply NADIZOB if you are allergic to Nadifloxacin.

OTHERS

Use in pediatrics:

NADIZOB should be used in children and adolescents (aged 14 years or above) only if prescribed by the physician. It is not recommended for use in children aged below 14 years due to lack of safety data. Therefore, consult your doctor before using it.

Use in geriatrics:

NADIZOB can be used in elderly patients. However, contact your doctor before using it.

INTERACTIONS

A. Drug-Drug Interaction:

Before applying NADIZOB, inform your doctor if you are applying any of the following:

  • skin products containing alcohol and aromatic agents

Overdosage:

If you or anyone else accidentally used NADIZOB excessively, rinse the application site with plenty of water. If irritation persists, contact your doctor for advice. If someone accidentally swallowed the medicine consult your doctor immediately or visit the nearby hospital.

What should I do if I forget to apply NADIZOB?

If you forget to apply NADIZOB, apply it as soon as you remember. However, if it is time for next application, skip the missed one and apply NADIZOB regularly as usual. Never apply NADIZOB excessively to compensate for the missed time.

Can I stop using NADIZOB once my acne reduces?

No, do not stop using NADIZOB without consulting your doctor even if you are feeling better. Your symptoms may improve before the infection is completely cured. Therefore, for better and complete treatment, it is advised to continue your treatment for the prescribed duration.

How long will it take for NADIZOB to reduce my acne?

You may notice a difference in your skin after 2 weeks of therapy. However, it may around 2 months (approx. 8 weeks) to achieve the desired results. Therefore, consistently use NADIZOB without any breaks or interruption in between the therapy.

Can NADIZOB be applied on the face?
