What is MYCOTOP 1500MCG INJECTION used for?
MYCOTOP 1500MCG INJECTION is used to treat diabetic neuropathy (nerve damage caused by diabetes), peripheral neuropathy (peripheral nerve damage that affects hands, feet and arms) and megaloblastic anaemia (blood disorder) caused by vitamin B12 deficiency. It is also used to treat sciatica pain (leg pain), back pain and general weakness in affected individuals.
How MYCOTOP 1500MCG INJECTION is received?
MYCOTOP 1500MCG INJECTION will be given to you only by a doctor or a nurse into a vein as an intravenous injection or into the muscle as an intramuscular injection. Your doctor will decide the correct dose and duration for you depending upon your age, body weight and disease condition.
What are the side effects of MYCOTOP 1500MCG INJECTION?
The most common side effects of receiving MYCOTOP 1500MCG INJECTION are headache, nausea, vomiting, diarrhoea, loss of appetite, skin rash and/or hot flushes. Consult your doctor if any of these side effects worsens.
How MYCOTOP 1500MCG INJECTION works?
MYCOTOP 1500MCG INJECTION works by aiding in the synthesis of myelin (lipid rich material that covers nerve fibres) which helps in protecting the nerve fibres and thereby providing relief from diabetic & peripheral neuropathy, sciatica pain and back pain in affected individuals. It also promotes nucleic acid synthesis in the bone marrow which helps in the maturation and division of erythroblasts thus preventing poor production of red blood cells and thereby improving megaloblastic anaemia in affected individuals.
Does MYCOTOP 1500MCG INJECTION cause headache?
Yes, MYCOTOP 1500MCG INJECTION causes headache as it is the commonest side effect associated with the use of MYCOTOP 1500MCG INJECTION. If such side effect experienced after receiving the medicine, then try to take rest and drink plenty of fluids. Try to avoid drinking alcohol. Ask your doctor to recommend a painkiller. Headaches should usually go away after the first week of receiving MYCOTOP 1500MCG INJECTION. If it lasts more than a week or severe, then inform your doctor.
