What is MUCOMIX 200MG SYRUP used for?

MUCOMIX 200MG SYRUP is also known as N-acetylcysteine (NAC) or N-acetyl-L-cysteine.

  • MUCOMIX 200MG SYRUP oral tablets, capsules and respiratory powder for inhalation are used
  • to treat chest infections like bronchitis, pneumonia, cystic fibrosis;
  • in anti-aging treatment;
  • to treat kidney failure (which occurs due to certain dyes used in X-ray procedure).
  • Intravenous MUCOMIX 200MG SYRUP (injectable) is used to treat
  • symptoms of chest pain (angina);
  • an overdose of Paracetamol.

MUCOMIX 200MG SYRUP may also be prescribed for other conditions as determined by your doctor.

  • MUCOMIX 200MG SYRUP is derived from N-acetyl cysteine, which is formed from the amino acid L-cysteine.
  • MUCOMIX 200MG SYRUP thins and clears the mucus from the airways in respiratory diseases.
  • MUCOMIX 200MG SYRUP helps in the formation of glutathione, a powerful antioxidant normally found in the liver, and enhances non-toxic metabolism of Acetaminophen. This protects the liver cells from NAPQI (N-acetyl-p-benzoquinone imine) toxicity, which can lead to acute liver failure.

How to take MUCOMIX 200MG SYRUP?

  • The dosage of oral tablets, capsules, inhalation powder and intravenous form of MUCOMIX 200MG SYRUP depends on the age, weight and medical condition of an individual. Take MUCOMIX 200MG SYRUP as prescribed by your doctor.
  • If you miss a dose of MUCOMIX 200MG SYRUP formulation, please take it immediately once you remember. However, if it is almost time for your next dose, then skip the missed dose and continue with your regular dosing schedule. Do not take a double dose to make up for the missed dose.
  • On oral administration:
  • MUCOMIX 200MG SYRUP inhalation solution must be prepared from the powder and inhaled directly from the nebulizer or with a face mask, mouth piece, tent, or intermittent positive pressure breathing (IPPB) machine.
