MOX 250MG SUSPENSION contains Amoxycillin which belongs to the group of medicines called Penicillin. MOX 250MG SUSPENSION is used to treat bacterial infections in pediatric patients caused by susceptible strains of gram-positive and gram-negative bacteria that affect different parts of the body.
It is also used in combination with other medicines in pediatric patients to treat stomach ulcers.
MOX 250MG SUSPENSION is not recommended for use in children allergic to amoxicillin, penicillin, and/or other antibiotics.
Before administering MOX 250MG SUSPENSION, inform your doctor if the child has glandular fever (viral infection caused by Epstein Barr Virus), is unable to urinate regularly, has kidney problems, and/or liver problems (such as hepatic impairment).
MOX 250MG SUSPENSION is not recommended for use in pregnant and breastfeeding women since it is used only in children and adolescents (aged below 18 years). It is also not recommended for use in elderly patients.
The most common side effects of taking MOX 250MG SUSPENSION are skin rash, nausea and diarrhoea. Consult your doctor before taking the medicine.
Used in paediatric patients:
MOX 250MG SUSPENSION works by inhibiting the synthesis of penicillin-binding proteins which leads to the activation of autolytic enzymes in bacterial cell wall resulting in lysis/destruction of bacterial cell wall thus preventing the spread of infection in affected children.
Administer MOX 250MG SUSPENSION in a child as advised by your physician. Shake well before use. Your doctor will decide the exact dose and duration of treatment for the child depending on the child’s age, body weight and disease condition.
Stop administering MOX 250MG SUSPENSION and consult your doctor immediately in case the child experiences:
Nausea/vomiting:
Have the child take this medicine with or just after a meal or a snack. Let the child stick to simple meals and avoid having rich or spicy food.
Diarrhoea:
Ask the child to drink lots of fluids such as water or fruit juices so that the child is sufficiently hydrated. Do not administer any medicine to treat the condition. Consult your doctor if the symptom does not improve.
MOX 250MG SUSPENSION is not recommended for use in pregnant women as it is used only in children.

MOX 250MG SUSPENSION should be taken with caution in children with kidney problems. Consult and inform your doctor before taking the medicine.

Overdosage:
If the child or anyone else accidentally takes too much of MOX 250MG SUSPENSION, Consult and inform your doctor immediately or visit the nearby hospital. Symptoms of overdose are stomach upset (associated with signs such as nausea/vomiting/diarrhoea), and/or crystals in the urine (associated with signs such as cloudy urine and difficulty while urinating).
