What is MIGNAR 25MG?

  • MIGNAR 25MG contains miglitol which is an oral anti-diabetic medicine

  • It is an alpha-glucosidase inhibitor which works by slowing down the digestion of carbohydrates (complex sugars) from your diet, and this reduces the abnormally high sugar levels in your blood that occur after each meal

  • It is used for the treatment of type 2 diabetes mellitus

Talk to your doctor before taking this medicine, if you:

  • are allergic to Miglitol or any of the other ingredients of this medicine
  • have any gastrointestinal disorders
  • have a severe kidney problem
  • MIGNAR 25MG should not be used during pregnancy and breast-feeding period
  • Ask your doctor for advice before taking any medicine

  • Avoid driving and using machines while taking MIGNAR 25MG, since it may cause hypoglycemia
  • Hypoglycemia may impair alertness and reactions, which may, affect the ability to drive or to operate machinery

Tell your doctor if you are taking or have recently taken medications such as:

  • medicines known as intestinal adsorbents to control diarrhea or medicines to help your digestion (digestive enzyme preparations, e.g. pancreatin and amylase)
  • laxatives, used to treat constipation
  • digoxin, used to treat heart conditions
  • glibenclamide or metformin or other medicines used to treat diabetes
  • propranolol, a drug used to treat high blood pressure and heart conditions
  • Always take MIGNAR 25MG exactly as your doctor has told you
  • The usual starting dose is one MIGNAR 25MG tablet three times a day
  • Depending on how you tolerate MIGNAR 25MG, after 4 to 12 weeks of treatment, your doctor may increase the dose to two MIGNAR 25MG 50 mg tablets three times a day
  • MIGNAR 25MG is taken orally and should be chewed with the first mouthful of food or swallowed whole with a little liquid directly before the meal

If you take more MIGNAR 25MG

  • Contact your doctor immediately

If you forget to take MIGNAR 25MG

  • If you forget to take one or more doses of MIGNAR 25MG do not take the tablet between meals but instead, wait until your next scheduled dose and continue as before
  • Do not take a double dose to make up for a forgotten dose

If you stop taking MIGNAR 25MG

  • Do not stop taking this medicine unless your doctor tells you to
