MIDSONE SF OINTMENT is used to treat psoriasis in adults and adolescents (above 12 years of age) which is a type of skin disease that causes a skin rash with itchy, scaly patches, most commonly seen on the knees, elbows, trunk and scalp.
What happens if you suddenly stop MIDSONE SF OINTMENT?
Do not use MIDSONE SF OINTMENT twice to make up for a forgotten dose. Make up for the dose you forgot as soon as possible, and then continue treatment at the regularly scheduled intervals. Consult your doctor before applying MIDSONE SF OINTMENT if you are uncertain about the forgotten dose.
Who should avoid using MIDSONE SF OINTMENT?
MIDSONE SF OINTMENT is not recommended for use in patients allergic to Mometasone and Salicylic acid and/or have bacterial infection such as pyoderma (pus-producing skin disease), syphilis (sexually transmited bacterial disease), tuberculosis, viral infections such as herpes simplex, chicken pox, fungal infections such as dermatophyte, yeast and rosacea (type of skin disease) marked by reddens and or other changes of the skin in the facial area.
Is MIDSONE SF OINTMENT safe to be used in pregnant women?
MIDSONE SF OINTMENT is not recommended for use during the last three months of pregnancy and it should be avoided during the first six months of pregnancy. Consult your doctor before using MIDSONE SF OINTMENT.
How MIDSONE SF OINTMENT should be applied on the site of infection?
Always apply MIDSONE SF OINTMENT as directed by your physician. It is for external use only. On the affected area, apply a thin layer of this medicine. It should not be applied under bandages or similar. Avoid applying the medicine around your eyes or mucous membrane. Your doctor will decide the duration and frequency of using this medicine depending upon severity of the condition.
