  • have high levels of vitamin D in your blood (hypervitaminosis D)
  • have high levels of calcium in your blood (hypercalcaemia) and urine
  • have Ketoacidosis
  • drink a lot of alcohol
  • suffer from pernicious anaemia
  • have a tumour

Tell your doctor if you are taking,

  • antidepressants
  • cholestyramine
  • oral contraceptives
  • fluorouracil, a drug used to treat certain tumour
  • antacids containing aluminium or magnesium
  • preparations containing zinc such as vitamins or food supplements
  • sulfasalazine, used to treat the inflammatory bowel conditions ulcerative colitis and Crohn's disease
  • histamine H2-antagonists
  • digoxin, digitalis used for heart problem
  • barbiturates used for sleep disturbance
  • glucocorticoids often used to treat allergies or asthma (e.g. hydrocortisone, prednisolone)
  • medicines which increase urine production (diuretics)
  • ibuprofen and celecoxib)medicines used to treat pain and inflammation
  • certain medicines for the treatment of high blood pressure (ACE inhibitors and angiotensin II receptor antagonists)
  • salbutamol or terbutaline (used to treat asthma)
  • corticosteroids (used to treat a variety of conditions, such as severe inflammation of the skin or in asthma)
  • other medicines used to treat diabetes

If you take more METITAL

  • If you take more METITAL, contact your nearest hospital or your doctor immediately

If you forget to take METITAL

  • Take them as soon as you remember and then continue with the next dose as instructed. Do not take a double dose to make up for a forgotten dose

If you stop taking METITAL

  • Talk to your doctor before stopping this medicine
