MEROSURE O 200MG contains Faropenem which belongs to a group of medicines called carbapenem beta-lactam antibiotics. It kills the bacteria by inhibiting the formation of outer coating of bacteria (bacterial cell wall). As a result, that the bacterial cell wall is weakened and ruptures and thereby killing the bacteria. It is used to treat bacterial infections of the respiratory tract including nose, ears, lungs, tonsils. It is also used to treat the kidney and bladder infections, prostate infections and various skin infections.
Always take this medicine as directed by physician. Your doctor will decide the dose and duration of therapy depending upon your age, weight and condition. Swallow the medicine with a glass of water. Do not crush or chew the medicine. Tell your doctor, if you are taking or taken or might take any other medicines. Some of the most common side effects of MEROSURE O 200MG include nausea, diarrhea, abdominal pain, and rashes, kidney impairment, severe allergic reactions, breathing trouble, dizziness, low blood pressure, liver problems, muscle pain and vitamin deficiency.

Abdominal pain:
Try to rest and relax. You can eat and drink slowly or have smaller and frequent meals. Keeping a heat pad on your stomach may also help. If still pain persists, speak to your doctor.
Nausea:
Try taking this medicine with, or just after, a meal or snack and stick to simple meals and do not eat rich or spicy food.
Diarrhea:
Drink lots of fluids, such as water or juice, to avoid dehydration. Do not take any medicines without speaking to a doctor.
MEROSURE O 200MG should be used with caution in pregnant women. Consult your doctor before taking this medicine.
MEROSURE O 200MG is not recommended for use in breastfeeding women unless necessary. Discuss the risks and benefits with your doctor.
This medicine has no influence on the driving or using machines.
Consumption of alcohol is not recommended during treatment with MEROSURE O 200MG.
MEROSURE O 200MG should be taken with caution in patients with severe kidney disease. Consult your doctor for advice.
