INTRODUCTION

MELALONG AD CREAM is a fixed-dose combination of Mequinol and tretinoin fusidic acid which belongs to the group of medicines called Demelanizing agents. It is used in the treatment of solar lentigines. Solar lentigines are harmless dark patches on the skin that occur because of long-term exposure of the skin to the sun.

Solar lentigines are a group of lesions on the skin exposed to the sun, such as the face or back of the hands. They can occur in all skin types but are more common in people with fair skin. Solar lentigines may worsen ageing long-term sun exposure and aging. Solar lentigines appear like freckles.

Do not use MELALONG AD CREAM near the eyes, mouth or nose; if you have, thoroughly wash it off and consult your doctor. Avoid exposure to sunlight while on treatment with MELALONG AD CREAM. Wear proper clothing to protect yourself from the sun before stepping out. Do not bathe immediately after applying MELALONG AD CREAM and wait for 30 minutes before applying any cosmetics.

MELALONG AD CREAM should be used with caution in patients with skin diseases such as eczema, skin irritation, vitiligo or a family history of vitiligo, sunburn, skin sensitive to sunlight and patients exposed to sunlight for long periods. Avoid concomitant use of antibiotics, phenothiazines, chlorthalidone and hydrochlorothiazide, along with MELALONG AD CREAM.

Avoid using skin care products that contain alcohol, astringents, spices, lime-medicated soaps and shampoos containing medicinal products, chemical hair products used to create curls, hair removal products and waxes.

MELALONG AD CREAM is not recommended for use by pregnant or breastfeeding women. MELALONG AD CREAM is not recommended for use by children. The most common side effects of MELALONG AD CREAM are redness, irritation, burning, tingling, peeling and itching where it is applied. Consult your doctor if any of your symptoms get worse or persist.

Always apply MELALONG AD CREAM as directed by your physician. It is for external use only. Apply a thin layer of this medicine to the affected area. Rub gently on the affected area. If you or anyone else accidentally took more of MELALONG AD CREAM, consult your doctor immediately or visit the nearby hospital. Symptoms of overdose include skin redness, peeling, discomfort and hypopigmentation.
