MEB SR CAPSULE contains Mebeverine which belongs to the group of medicines called Antispasmodics. It is used in adults to treat painful muscle spasms of the stomach and the intestines. It is used for the symptomatic treatment of irritable bowel syndrome (IBS) and other similar stomach conditions (such as chronic irritable colon, spastic constipation, mucous colitis and spastic colitis) that causes painful spasms or cramps of the gut muscles.
Take MEB SR CAPSULE 20 minutes before meals or as directed by your physician. Along with the treatment, follow the diet changes that suits your body and eat foods rich in fibre (such as cereals pulses, fruits etc.) to lessen the symptoms.
Before taking MEB SR CAPSULE inform your doctor if you have any liver or kidney problems. You must also inform your doctor if you experience new any symptoms of IBS or worsening of existing symptoms as a precaution.
Do not take MEB SR CAPSULE if you are pregnant or breastfeeding without consulting your doctor. The most common side-effects of taking MEB SR CAPSULE are skin rash, redness or irritation. Contact your doctor if it troubles you.

Skin rash:
Place an icepack on the affected skin areas to ease the irritation. Avoid using harsh chemicals or soaps on the affected areas. Wear protective loose-fitting clothes while going outdoors. Regularly moisturize your skin. Avoid exposing your skin towards direct sunlight. If the condition did not improve, contact your doctor.
MEB SR CAPSULE is not recommended for use in pregnant women. Therefore, consult your doctor for advice. Women who accidentally became pregnant while taking MEB SR CAPSULE must inform their doctor immediately.
MEB SR CAPSULE is not recommended for use in breastfeeding women. Therefore, consult your doctor before taking it.
MEB SR CAPSULE does not affect your ability for driving or handling any heavy tools or machines.
Consult your doctor for advice if you wish to consume alcohol while getting treated for IBS.
MEB SR CAPSULE should be used with caution in patients with kidney problems. Therefore, consult your doctor before taking it.
