MAYOGEST TABLET contains a combination of Metformin and Myo Inositol, which belong to groups of medicines called antidiabetic agents and nutritional supplements, respectively. It is used in the treatment of polycystic ovarian syndrome (PCOS) in women. Polycystic ovarian syndrome is a hormonal disorder among women of reproductive age that causes the ovaries to enlarge, which prevents the release of eggs at regular intervals. The symptoms may include menstrual irregularity, excess hair growth, acne, weight gain etc.
While taking MAYOGEST TABLET, your doctor will monitor your blood sugar level and kidney functions at regular intervals. During the course of treatment with MAYOGEST TABLET, your doctor may advise regular monitoring of blood sugar levels and kidney function. Before taking MAYOGEST TABLET, inform your doctor if you have liver, kidney, lung or heart problems or should undergo any surgery. Do not consume alcohol while taking MAYOGEST TABLET as it can worsen the side effects.
Inform your doctor if you are pregnant or breastfeeding before taking this medicine. MAYOGEST TABLET is not recommended for use by children. The most common side effects of taking MAYOGEST TABLET are nausea, changes in taste, diarrhoea, dizziness, stomach pain and loss of appetite.

Stop taking MAYOGEST TABLET and contact your doctor immediately if you experience any of the following side effects:
Nausea :
Stick to simple meals. Avoid eating oily or spicy foods. If your symptoms do not improve, consult your doctor.
Diarrhea:

Stomach pain:
Try to have smaller and more frequent meals. Keep a heating pad on your stomach. If the symptom does not improve, consult your doctor.
Loss of appetite:
Eat when you are hungry. Eat a nutritious snack rich in calories and protein, such as dried fruit and nuts. If your symptoms do not improve, see your doctor.

MAYOGEST TABLET is not recommended for use by breastfeeding women. Consult your doctor before taking it.
Avoid driving or using heavy machines if you feel weak, dizzy, have profuse sweating, faster heartbeat, have vision problems or have concentrating difficulties after taking MAYOGEST TABLET.
Do not consume alcohol while taking MAYOGEST TABLET as it can increase the impact of side effects.
MAYOGEST TABLET is not recommended for use in patients with severe kidney disease. It should be used with caution in patients with mild to moderate kidney disease. Consult your doctor before taking it.
