Can MAYOGEST TABLET be used in patients with kidney disease?
No, MAYOGEST TABLET is not recommended for use in patients with severe kidney disease. Patients with mild to moderate disease should take this medicine with caution and regular monitoring of kidney function is needed, especially in the elderly.
How does MAYOGEST TABLET work?
MAYOGEST TABLET helps your body to utilise insulin and regulate menstrual cycles. Metformin decreases glucose production in the liver and improves insulin sensitivity. Myo-inositol increases insulin sensitivity (body cells utilise insulin effectively to produce glucose) and decreases hyperandrogenism (levels of the male hormone androgen are reduced).
What if I take more of MAYOGEST TABLET?
If you or anyone else takes more MAYOGEST TABLET, consult your doctor right away because you could develop lactic acidosis (vomiting, stomachache, muscle cramps, tiredness, difficulty breathing, reduced body temperature and decreased heartbeat) and end up in a coma.
Can I consume alcohol or drive while taking MAYOGEST TABLET?
No, do not consume alcohol while taking MAYOGEST TABLET as it can increase the side effects and do not drive or use machines as it can make you feel dizzy or sleepy, which affects your ability to drive.
