INTRODUCTION

LOMEZ 20MG contains Omeprazole which belongs to a group of medicines called proton pump inhibitors which reduces the amount of acid in stomach. Gastro-oesophageal reflux disease is a condition where acid from the stomach leaks up into the oesophagus (gullet). Omeprazole stop cells from producing excess acid in the lining of the stomach. This prevents the formation of ulcers and also assist the healing process where damage has already occurred. By decreasing the amount of acid, they can also help to reduce the symptoms of acid reflux disease, such as heartburn.

This medicine is used to treat acid-related diseases of the stomach and intestine such as heartburn, acid reflux, peptic ulcer disease, and some other stomach conditions associated with excessive acid production. It is also used to prevent stomach ulcers and acidity that may be seen with the prolonged use of pain-killers.
