What is LIVOGEN?

LIVOGEN contains ferric hydroxide in complex with sucrose which is indicated for the subsequent conditions:

  • as an iron replacement product indicated for the treatment of iron deficiency anemia in patients with Chronic kidney disease (CKD)
  • helps to replenish iron stores and increases red blood cell levels in the body
  • fights the symptoms of anemia such as fatigue, paleness, weakness, inability to concentrate and dizziness

What LIVOGEN is used for?

LIVOGEN contains the below mentioned components, which have the following uses:                                                                 

Iron:

  • Ferrous sucrose is a type of iron salt which allows better absorption in the body and has comparable tolerability. Iron is a vital mineral, that forms part of red blood cells which carry oxygen round the body

Talk to your doctor before taking LIVOGEN, if you:

  • are allergic (hypersensitive) to any of the ingredients in LIVOGEN
  • are suffering from hypotension
  • have any conditions of iron overload
  • have any other chronic or acute medical conditions
  • If you are pregnant or breast-feeding, think you may be pregnant or are planning to have a baby, ask your doctor for advice before taking LIVOGEN
  • Ask your doctor for advice before giving LIVOGEN to your children
  • LIVOGEN will usually not affect your ability to drive and use machines

Tell your doctor if you might take any other medicines such as:

  • oral iron preparations
  • prescription drugs for any other ailments you might have
  • other vitamins, minerals, herbal supplements you may have obtained without a prescription
  • LIVOGEN will be administered to you by a doctor or a nurse
  • It will be injected into a vein
  • Your doctor will decide the dosage of the injection to be given to you
