LITHOSET 300MG TABLET contains Lithium which belongs to the group of medicines called Anti-manic agents. It is used in the treatment of manic depression. LITHOSET 300MG TABLET also used to manage or control hypomania (less severe form of mania) and aggressive or self-harming behaviour.
Manic depression (bipolar disorder) is a serious mental illness associated with episodes of mood swings that includes emotional highs (mania) and lows (depression). Symptoms of mania includes pressure of speech, lack of sleep and aggressiveness, while symptoms of depression include low energy, feeling sad, suicidal thoughts, lack of sleep and concentration, restlessness, crying and fatigue.
Prior to LITHOSET 300MG TABLET treatment, your doctor may check on your kidneys, thyroid and heart to avoid any untoward side effects.
LITHOSET 300MG TABLET is not recommended for use in patients having kidney, thyroid and heart problems, or if you have Addison’s disease.
Before taking LITHOSET 300MG TABLET, inform your doctor if you have epilepsy, persistent headaches, cold or flu, gastroenteritis, or if you had or are about to have any weight loss surgery.
LITHOSET 300MG TABLET is not suitable for use in pregnant or breastfeeding women. Consult your doctor before taking the medicine.
LITHOSET 300MG TABLET is not recommended for use in children. Consult your child’s doctor for advice.
LITHOSET 300MG TABLET should be used with caution in patients above 65 years of age. The most common side effects of taking LITHOSET 300MG TABLET are hand trembling, excessive urination, increased thirst, nausea, and general discomfort during beginning of the treatment. Contact your doctor if the side effects persists for a long time.
