What is LIPICURE D 20MG?

  • LIPICURE D 20MG contains active ingredients called Atorvastatin and Cholecalciferol


  • Atorvastatin is a cholesterol-lowering agent which belongs to the group of drugs called statins or HMG CoA reductase inhibitors
  • It decreases the low-density lipoprotein (bad cholesterol) and triglyceride in the blood, as well as increases the high-density lipoprotein (good cholesterol)
  • It helps in preventing the build-up of cholesterol in the arteries
  • It also reduces blood flow to the brain, heart and other body parts


  • Cholecalciferol is vitamin D3. It aids the body to absorb calcium

It is used,

  • to prevents the risk of stroke and heart attack in individuals with diabetes and heart disorders

Talk to your doctor before taking LIPICURE D 20MG, if you:

  • are allergic (hypersensitive) LIPICURE D 20MG or any other contents of this medicine
  • have liver or kidney disease
  • have cardiovascular disorder
  • have diabetes
  • have hypothyroidism
  • have electrolyte imbalance
  • have had repeated or unexplained muscle aches or pains
  • regularly drink a large amount of alcohol
  • have severe respiratory failure
  • have had a previous stroke with bleeding into the brain, or have small pockets of fluid in the brain from previous strokes
  • have high blood calcium levels
  • have high urine calcium levels
  • have too much vitamin D in your body
  • have any type of cancer of the bone
  • have sarcoidosis (inflammation that produces lumps of cells in various organs in the body)
  • have any type of cancer of the bone
  • Ask your doctor for advice before taking this medicine during pregnancy or while breast-feeding
  • Do not breastfeed if you are taking this LIPICURE D 20MG
  • Consult to your doctor before giving this medicine to children


Tell your doctor about any other medicine you are taking:

  • ciclosporin, used to alter the way your immune system works
  • erythromycin, clarithromycin, telithromycin, ketoconazole, itraconazole, voriconazole, fluconazole, posaconazole, rifampin, fusidic acid used for antibiotics or antifungal medicines
  • gemfibrozil, other fibrates, colestipol used to regulate lipid levels
  • amlodipine diltiazem, used for angina or high blood pressure
  • digoxin, verapamil, amiodarone used to regulate your heart rhythm
  • ritonavir, lopinavir, atazanavir, indinavir, darunavir, the combination of tipranavir/ritonavir, used in the treatment of HIV
  • telaprevir, boceprevir, used in the treatment of hepatitis C
  • ezetimibe (which lowers cholesterol), warfarin (which reduces blood clotting), oral contraceptives, stiripentol (an anti-convulsant for epilepsy), cimetidine (used for heartburn and peptic ulcers), phenazone (a painkiller), colchicines (used to treat gout), antacids (indigestion products containing aluminium or magnesium)
  • other medications containing vitamin D or calcium
  • digitoxin and digoxin, used to treat certain heart conditions
  • thiazide diuretics (used in treatment of high blood pressure and oedema)
  • tetracycline antibiotics
  • disodium etidronate, used to treat osteoporosis
  • estramustine (a medicine used in chemotherapy) and levothyroxine (used to treat thyroid deficiency)
  • orlistat, used to treat obesity
  • Always take this medicine as exactly your doctor told you
  • Swallow the whole with a glass of water
  • It can be taken at any time of day, with or without food
  • Take this tablet daily at the same time

If you take more LIPICURE D 20MG

  • If you take too many LIPICURE D 20MG contact your doctor immediately or go to the emergency department of the nearest hospital

If you forget to take LIPICURE D 20MG

  • If you happen to miss a dose of LIPICURE D 20MG, take the missed dose as soon as you remember. Do not take a double dose to compensate for the missed dose

If you stop taking LIPICURE D 20MG

  • Do not stop this LIPICURE D 20MG until your physician tells
Very Rare

Like all medicines, this medicine can cause side effects, although not everybody gets them.


  • serious allergic reaction which causes swelling of face, tongue and throat that can cause great difficulty in breathing
  • serious illness with severe peeling and swelling of the skin, blistering of the skin, mouth, eyes, genitals and fever
  • skin rash with pink-red blotches especially on palms of hands or soles of feet which may blister
  • muscle weakness, tenderness or pain


  • headache, constipation, indigestion
  • dizziness, heartburn, flatulence
  • increases in blood sugar levels
  • nausea, constipation, wind, indigestion, diarrhoea
  • joint pain, muscle pain and back pain
  • inflammation of the nasal passages, pain in the throat, nose bleed


  • anorexia (loss of appetite), weight gain, decreases in blood sugar levels
  • having nightmares, insomnia
  • dizziness, numbness or tingling in the fingers and toes, reductions of sensation to pain or touch, change in sense of taste, loss of memory
  • blurred vision
  • ringing in the ears and/or head
  • vomiting, belching, abdominal pain upper and lower, pancreatitis
  • hepatitis (liver inflammation)
  • rash, skin rash and itching, hives, hair loss
  • neck pain, muscle fatigue
  • fatigue, feeling unwell, weakness, chest pain, swelling especially in the ankles (oedema), raised temperature
  • urine tests that are positive for white blood cells


  • excess calcium levels in the blood or urine


  • visual disturbance
  • unexpected bleeding or bruising
  • cholestasis (yellowing of the skin and whites of the eyes)
  • tendon injury


  • constipation, flatulence, feeling sick (nausea), abdominal pain, diarrhoea, itching, skin rashes and hives (urticaria)
  • serious allergic (hypersensitivity) reactions such as swelling of the face, lips, tongue or throat


  • hearing loss
  • gynaecomastia (breast enlargement in men)
