INTRODUCTION

LIORESAL contains baclofen which is a muscle-relaxant drug which belong to class of medications called skeletal muscle relaxants. It is used to reduce and relieve the excessive tension in your muscles (spasms) occurring in various illnesses such as cerebral palsy, multiple sclerosis, cerebrovascular accidents, spinal cord diseases and other nervous system disorders.

This medicine acts on the nerves of the spinal cord and decreases the severity and reoccurrence of muscle spasms caused by multiple sclerosis or spinal cord conditions. It also relieves pain and improves muscle movement. Baclofen works on the brain and spinal cord to relieve muscle stiffness or spasm thus maintaining the strength of the muscles.
