INTRODUCTION

LATOBEST contains Latanoprost which belongs to the group of medicines called Anti-glaucoma preparations. It is used to treat open angle glaucoma and ocular hypertension (both linked to increased pressure in the eye) in children and adults. Glaucoma is a group of diseases characterized by gradual damage to your optic nerve (nerve that carry visual messages), that may result in loss of vision.

Latanoprost works by increasing the natural flow of fluid (that nourishes the eye) from inside the eye into the bloodstream. Prior to the treatment, your doctor may want you to take certain eye tests to understand your existing condition.

Before using LATOBEST, inform your doctor if you or your child have any liver, kidney or heart disease, eye problems like infections, asthma, or about to have any eye surgery. Before using LATOBEST, inform your doctor if you are pregnant, breastfeeding, or planning to have a baby.

LATOBEST can be used in children and adolescents (new-borns to 18 years old) except in prematurely born infants (less than 36 weeks gestation). The most common side effects of using LATOBEST are problems with the eyes like a gradual change in eye colour and eyelashes, redness, irritation, or pain in the eye.
