What is KEPPRA Syrup used for?

KEPPRA Syrup is used in the treatment of epilepsy. It is used to treat the following types of seizures:

  • Myoclonic seizures
  • Partial onset seizure
  • Refractory seizure disorders

KEPPRA Syrup may also be prescribed for other conditions as determined by the doctor.

How does KEPPRA Syrup work?

KEPPRA Syrup belongs to the class of drugs called anti-convulsants. It acts as a neuromodulator and works by binding to a synaptic vesicle glycoprotein. This inhibits pre-synaptic calcium channels and reduces the neurotransmitter release.

How to take KEPPRA Syrup?

The dosage and the drug form depend on the age, weight and medical condition of an individual. Take KEPPRA Syrup as prescribed by your doctor.

Swallow the tablet whole. Do not crush or chew the tablet. Take the drug with or without food. However, taking the drug with food prevents stomach upset.
