KAIRAB 20 INJECTION contains Rabeprazole which belongs to the group of medicines called Proton pump inhibitors. It is used to treat Gastro-oesophageal Reflux Disease (GERD) and peptic ulcer. It is used as an alternative to oral therapy when patients are not able to swallow rabeprazole orally.
GERD is a chronic digestive disease in which the stomach acid frequently flows into the oesophagus leading to the irritation of lining of the food pipe. Symptoms include heartburn, chest pain, nausea, sensation of lump in throat and stomach discomfort.
Peptic ulcers are painful sores that develop on the linings of the stomach, oesophagus and/or intestines. Symptoms include stomach pain, flatulence, indigestion, vomiting and fatigue.
KAIRAB 20 INJECTION will be administered to you only by a doctor or a nurse into the vein. Before starting the treatment with KAIRAB 20 INJECTION inform your doctor if you have any liver problems. You must also inform your doctor if you have vitamin B12 deficiency, osteoporosis or any tumours in your stomach.
Inform your doctor before receiving KAIRAB 20 INJECTION if you are pregnant or breastfeeding. The most common side effects of receiving KAIRAB 20 INJECTION are sore throat, cough, flu-like symptoms, constipation, indigestion, stomach pain, headache and dizziness. Consult your doctor if any of the side effect troubles you.
You must also inform your doctor immediately if you experience severe uncontrollable diarrhea with stomach pain or tenderness after receiving KAIRAB 20 INJECTION.

Inform your doctor immediately if you experience any of the following side effects after receiving KAIRAB 20 INJECTION:
Drink plenty of fluids, such as water or fruit juice to keep yourself hydrated. Consuming ORS can also be beneficial. Do not consume any medicine on your own without consulting your doctor. If your diarrhea worsens, contact your doctor immediately.
Try to rest and relax. Get enough sleep. Avoid driving or operating any tools or machines completely while you are feeling dizzy. Do not consume excessive alcohol, as it could aggravate your dizziness. Consult your doctor if your dizziness worsens.
Stick to simple meals. Avoid eating rich or spicy food. Consult your doctor if your nausea worsens.
Rest and relax. Keep yourself hydrated by drinking plenty of fluids such as water or electrolytes. Applying a pain-relieving balm on your forehead can be beneficial. Do not consume excessive alcohol, as it could aggravate your headache. Consult your doctor if your headache worsens.
KAIRAB 20 INJECTION is not recommended for use in pregnant women. Therefore, consult your doctor before receiving it.
KAIRAB 20 INJECTION is not recommended for use in breastfeeding women. Therefore, consult your doctor before receiving it.
Do not drive or operate any machines if you feel sleepy after receiving KAIRAB 20 INJECTION.
