JUBIGLIM M 2 TABLET is a combination of Glimepiride and Metformin which belongs to the group of medicines called Antidiabetic agents. JUBIGLIM M 2 TABLET is used to treat type 2 diabetes mellitus when diet, exercise and the single agent does not result in adequate glycemic control.
Type 2 diabetes is a chronic medical condition in which the body does not make enough insulin or the produced insulin does not work well. Symptoms include excessive urination, excessive thirst, hunger, fatigue and blurred vision.
Along treatment with JUBIGLIM M 2 TABLET follow regular exercise and diet plan as advised by your doctor to achieve better results.
Before taking JUBIGLIM M 2 TABLET inform your doctor if you have type 1 diabetes mellitus, diabetic ketoacidosis, severe liver or kidney disease, acute heart problems. Inform your doctor if you are pregnant or breastfeeding. It is not suitable for use in children and adolescents under 18 years of age.
Avoid consumption of alcohol during treatment with JUBIGLIM M 2 TABLET as it may increase or decrease the blood sugar lowering action of JUBIGLIM M 2 TABLET and increases the risk of lactic acidosis.
The most common side effects of taking JUBIGLIM M 2 TABLET are taste disturbance, nausea, diarrhea, stomachache and vomiting. Contact your doctor if any of the side effects worsen.
JUBIGLIM M 2 TABLET controls blood glucose levels, where glimepiride works by increasing the amount of insulin released by the pancreas in order to lower the blood glucose. Metformin works by lowering glucose production in the liver, delaying glucose absorption from intestine and increasing the body's sensitivity to insulin.
Take JUBIGLIM M 2 TABLET as advised by your physician. Swallow JUBIGLIM M 2 TABLET with a glass of water. Do not crush or chew the medicine. Your doctor will decide the correct dose and duration for you depending upon your age, body weight and disease condition. Do not stop taking JUBIGLIM M 2 TABLET without informing your doctor.
Stop taking JUBIGLIM M 2 TABLET and contact your doctor immediately if you experience any of the following side effects:
Drink lot of fluids such as water to keep yourself hydrated. Avoid taking any medicine on your own for treating diarrhea. Consult your doctor if the symptom did not improve.
Eat when you feel hungry. Eat smaller meals frequently than usual. Snack only when you're hungry. Consult your doctor if the symptom does not improve.
Stick to simple meals. Avoid eating oily, fried and spicy foods. Do not perform any strenuous activities immediately after eating. Consult your doctor if the symptom does not improve.
Rest and relax. Eat and drink slowly or try to have smaller and frequent meals. Keep a heat pad on your stomach. Consult your doctor if the symptom does not improve.
JUBIGLIM M 2 TABLET should not be taken during pregnancy. Consult your doctor before taking JUBIGLIM M 2 TABLET if you are planning to become pregnant.
JUBIGLIM M 2 TABLET should not be taken during breastfeeding as it may pass through breast milk. Consult your doctor for advice before taking JUBIGLIM M 2 TABLET.
Do not drive or handle any machines if you experience low or high blood sugar levels (symptoms include dizziness, tiredness, shaking or trembling) or if you develop visual problems due to altered blood sugar levels.

JUBIGLIM M 2 TABLET is not recommended if you have severe liver disease and it should be used with caution in patients with liver disease and your dose will be adjusted if needed depending upon liver function. Consult your doctor before taking JUBIGLIM M 2 TABLET.
Do not take JUBIGLIM M 2 TABLET if you are allergic (hypersensitive) to Glimepiride or Metformin or other sulfonylureas (such as glipizide, glibenclamide) or sulfonamides (such as sulfamethoxazole).
JUBIGLIM M 2 TABLET is not recommended for use in patients with acute heart problems or recently had a heart attack or have severe circulatory problems or breathing difficulties (signs of heart failure). Consult your doctor before taking JUBIGLIM M 2 TABLET.
