INVEGA SUSTENNA 75MG contain paliperidone which belongs to a group of medicine called antipsychotics. It is used as a maintenance treatment for the symptoms of schizophrenia in adult patients. Schizophrenia is a disorder characterised by symptoms such as hearing, seeing or sensing thing that are not present, unusual suspiciousness, becoming withdrawn, incoherent speech, and behaviour and emotional changes. People with this disorder can also feel depressed, anxious, guilty, or tensed. It works by affecting the levels of chemical messengers (dopamine and serotonin) to improve mood, thoughts and behaviour.
INVEGA SUSTENNA 75MG will be administered by a doctor or nurse. It will be given as an injection into upper arm or buttocks. It is not recommended for use in children and adolescents under 18 years. Do not drive or operate any machine while taking this medicine since it may cause dizziness, extreme tiredness, and vision problems. Before taking this medicine tell your doctor if you have ever had kidney disease, heart disease, liver problems. Pregnant and breastfeeding women should consult their doctor before taking this medicine. The most common side effects are dizziness, sleepiness, tremor, injection site reactions (including itching, pain or swelling).

Dizziness:
Get up and move around to feel awake, take small naps to edge off the sleepiness. Give your eyes a break to avoid fatigue and eat a healthy food to boost energy.
Headache:
Apply hot or cold-water bag on your head. Take rest in a quiet and dark room. Drink tea or coffee.
Abdominal pain:
Try to rest and relax. Eat and drink slowly or have smaller and frequent meals. Applying heat pad or covered hot water bottle on your stomach may also help. If still pain persists, speak to your doctor.
Nausea and vomiting:
Try taking this medicine with, or just after, a meal or snack and stick to simple meals and do not eat rich or spicy food.
Constipation:
Take fibre rich foods such as fresh fruit, vegetables and cereals, and drink plenty of water. Exercise more regularly.
Diarrhoea:
Drink lot of fluid such as water or squash, to avoid dehydration. Do not take any other medicines without talking to a doctor.
INVEGA SUSTENNA 75MG is not recommended for use in pregnant women unless necessary. Discuss the risks and benefits with your doctor.
INVEGA SUSTENNA 75MG is not recommended for use in breastfeeding women unless necessary. Discuss the risks and benefits with your doctor.
Do not drive or operate any machine while taking this medicine since it may cause dizziness, extreme tiredness, and vision problems.
Consumption of alcohol is not recommended during treatment with INVEGA SUSTENNA 75MG.
INVEGA SUSTENNA 75MG should be used with caution in patients suffering from active kidney diseases. Consult your doctor for advice.
INVEGA SUSTENNA 75MG should be used with caution in patients suffering from liver function impairment or active liver diseases. Consult your doctor for advice.
Do not take INVEGA SUSTENNA 75MG if you are allergic (hypersensitive) to paliperidone or any other ingredients in this medicine.
