What IMINZA is used for?

  • IMINZA is used to treat non-nodular inflammatory lesions that happen with moderate to severe acne vulgaris in people 12 years and older
  • It can be used to treat a variety of infections, including bacterial infections that affect the eyes, ears, nose, throat and respiratory system (chest infections), skin infections (acne), gonorrhoea or pelvic, prostate and urinary tract infections
  • It can also be used to treat meningitis carriers

Talk to your doctor before taking this medicine, if you:

  • are allergic to minocycline or any of the other ingredients of IMINZA
  • have photosensitivity
  • impaired liver or kidney function
  • have drug-resistance
  • IMINZA can cause foetal harm when administered to a pregnant woman
  • This medicine is not recommended for use in pregnant or breastfeeding women. Consult your doctor for advice
  • IMINZA is not recommended for use in children less than 8 years of age
  • It is advisable not to drive or operate machinery if you notice headaches, dizziness, lightheadedness, vertigo (a feeling of unsteadiness), tinnitus (ringing in the ears) or effects on hearing while you are taking IMINZA

Tell your doctor if you are taking, have recently taken or might take any other medicines, including medicines obtained without a prescription. Especially a following medicine

  • Warfarin
  • Ethinyl Estradiol
  • Digoxin
  • Calcium gluconate
  • Live cholera vaccine
  • Antibiotics
  • Tetracyclines with oral contraceptives
  • Isotretinoin
  • IMINZA must only be administered by a doctor or nurse
