HILEVO TABLET contains Levosulpiride which belongs to the group of medicines called Antipsychotic drugs. It is used in the treatment of depression and schizophrenia in adults.
Depression is a mood disorder characterized by persistent feeling of sadness, loss of interest, feeling guilty or worthless, attention impairment, lack of energy, suicidal thoughts and slow or abnormal physical movements.
Schizophrenia is a serious mental health disorder in which the individual interprets the reality in an abnormal way. It affects the thinking and behaviour of the person and causes symptoms such as long-lasting delusions, hallucinations, disorganized thinking, irrelevant speech, agitation, slow movements, unusual body postures and lack of interest/pleasure.
Before taking HILEVO TABLET inform your doctor if you have any kidney or heart problems. You must also inform your doctor if you have epilepsy, any bleeding or any blockage or tear in the gut, mania or bipolar disorder (manic depression).
HILEVO TABLET is not recommended for use in patients having cancer or tumours in the body. Do not take HILEVO TABLET without consulting your doctor if you are pregnant or breastfeeding.
The most common side effects of taking HILEVO TABLET are sleepiness, tiredness and dizziness. Consult your doctor if any of these side effect bothers you.

HILEVO TABLET is an antipsychotic medicine. It acts by increasing the levels of certain chemical messengers (such as serotonin) in the brain that can stabilize mood and mental health. As a result, it improves your mood and reduces the signs of depression. It can also control abnormal thoughts and behaviours and improves thinking abilities, behaviour and body movements.
Take HILEVO TABLET as advised by your physician. Swallow the medicine with a glass of water. Do not crush or chew the medicine.
Your doctor will decide the correct dose and duration of therapy for you depending upon your age, body weight and disease condition. Do not stop taking HILEVO TABLET unless your doctor advice you to stop.
Stop taking HILEVO TABLET and inform your doctor immediately if you experience any of the following side effects such as:
Dizziness:
Try to rest and relax. Get enough sleep. Avoid driving or operating any tools or machines completely while you are feeling dizzy. Do not consume excessive alcohol, as it could aggravate your dizziness. Consult your doctor if your dizziness worsens.
HILEVO TABLET is not recommended for use in pregnant women as it may harm the growing baby. Therefore, consult your doctor before taking it.
HILEVO TABLET is not recommended for use in breastfeeding women. Therefore, consult your doctor before taking it.
Do not drive or operate any heavy tools or machines if you feel drowsy after taking HILEVO TABLET.
Avoid consumption of alcohol while taking HILEVO TABLET, as it could make you feel drowsier.
HILEVO TABLET should be used with caution in patients with kidney problems. Therefore, consult with your doctor before taking it.
Do not take HILEVO TABLET if you are allergic to Levosulpiride.
