Talk to your doctor before using this medicine, if you:

  • have had irritation or other skin reaction to a steroid medicine in the past
  • have a skin infection
  • have diabetes
  • have adrenal gland problems
  • have liver problems
  • plan to have surgery

  • No effects on the ability to drive or use machines have been seen with HALOVATE

  • Tell your healthcare provider about all the medicines you take, including prescription and over-the-counter medicines, vitamins and herbal supplements

  • Use HALOVATE exactly as your healthcare provider tells you to use it
  • Apply a thin layer of HALOVATE to the affected skin areas 2 times each day
  • Avoid using HALOVATE on your face, underarms (armpits) or groin areas
  • Do not bandage, cover or wrap the treated skin area unless your healthcare provider tells you to
  • Talk to your healthcare provider if your skin does not improve after 2 weeks of treatment with HALOVATE
  • Wash your hands after using HALOVATE unless you are using the medicine to treat your hands

If you apply more HALOVATE

  • Do not use more HALOVATE until your doctor tells you to, talk to your doctor immediately and you may need medical attention

If you forget to apply HALOVATE

  • If the forgotten dose is just a few hours late, use it straight away
  • If it is nearly time for your next application, miss out the forgotten one
  • Do the next application at the normal time
  • Do not use double the amount but carry on using your HALOVATE at the usual times

If you stop applying HALOVATE

  • Do not stop applying the HALOVATE until you have completed the full course of treatment

  • cushing’s syndrome, a condition that happens when your body is exposed to too much of the hormone cortisol
  • high blood sugar (hyperglycemia)
  • vision problems - cataracts and glaucoma
  • skin reactions at the treated skin site
