What GRANISET 1MG is used for?

  • It is used to prevent or treat nausea and vomiting caused by other medical treatments, such as chemotherapy or radiation treatment for cancer

Talk to your Doctor, if you:

  • are allergic to any of the other ingredients of this medicine
  • have a blockage in the intestine (gut) causing symptoms such as stomachache, wind, feeling or being sick, or difficulty passing stools
  • have heart problems
  • have problems with levels of salts, such as potassium, sodium or calcium in your body
  • If you are pregnant or breastfeeding think you may be pregnant or are planning to have a baby, ask your doctor for advice before taking this medicine
  • This medicine is not recommended in children
  • This medicine should not affect your ability to drive or operate machinery

Tell your doctor if you are taking,

  • dolasetron or ondansetron (used to treat nausea, vomiting)
  • drugs used to treat depression and/or anxiety
  • Always take this medicine exactly as your doctor has told you
  • Swallow the medicine with a glass of water

If you take more GRANISET 1MG

  • If you take more of this medicine than you should, talk to a doctor or go to a hospital straight away
  • symptoms of overdose include: mild headache

If you forget to take GRANISET 1MG

  • If you forget a dose, take it as soon as you remember it on the same day. Do not take a double dose to make up for a forgotten dose

If you stop taking GRANISET 1MG

  • Do not stop taking the medicine unless your doctor tells to do

Like all medicines, this medicine can cause side effects, although not everybody gets them.

Very Rare
  • allergic reactions (anaphylaxis): swelling of the throat, face, lips and mouth, difficulty in breathing or swallowing
  • headache
  • constipation
  • problem in sleeping (insomnia)
  • changes in liver
  • skin rashes or an allergic skin reaction or “nettle-rash” or “hives” (urticaria), red, raised itchy bumps
  • changes in the heartbeat (rhythm) and changes seen on ECG readings (electrical recordings of the heart)
  • abnormal involuntary movements, such as shaking, muscle rigidity and muscle contractions
  • serotonin syndrome: diarrhoea, nausea, vomiting, high temperature and blood pressure, excessive sweating and rapid heartbeat, agitation, confusion, hallucination, shivering, muscles shakes, jerks or stiffness, loss of coordination and restlessness
